"We had been eager to try out this restaurant for a while, but it had always evaded us until we finally made reservations with two other couples in mid-December. When we arrived, we were surprised to find the place nearly empty. We ordered a few tapas dishes (about 5 for each couple). My wife's halloumi slices were disappointingly small, with only 4 paper-thin pieces that wouldn't even fill a couple of crackers. I ordered Gambas Pil Pil, which I had enjoyed years ago on the beautiful Costa del Sol. However, what arrived at our table was an unappetizing, oily dish with 5 pale-looking prawns and a few slices of red chili. The flavors were bland and the patatas bravas were also underwhelming. We also ordered sweet potato fries, which looked like shriveled worms. Our friends had a similar experience. Three of them shared a bottle of white wine while the rest of us had a beer each. I requested ice cream with a small amount of toffee sauce, but it came drowning in sauce. The lone waitress was pleasant, but the bill came out to around £80 per couple, including a £21 service charge, which we felt was far too high for the poor quality of food we received. As we left, one of the other couples expressed that they would not be returning, a sentiment that my wife and I shared. It became clear to us why the restaurant was so quiet, especially during the Christmas season. Sorry La Familia, but we won't be coming back. Quite disappointing overall."

A really lovely restaurant. I had a catch-up with a friend here last night and we really enjoyed our evening. The food was very tasty, except for the tortilla, and the service was exceptional. We will be coming back. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £40–50 Recommended dishes: Gambas Al Ajillo

I organized a social club event with my coworkers for 30 people at this restaurant. The food and service were both excellent, and the space was perfect for socializing. Isabela provided amazing service and took great care of our group. I highly recommend this restaurant! We had dinner and rated the food, service, and atmosphere a perfect 5 out of 5. A must-try dish is the Paella.

I typically don't write reviews, but I had the most amazing experience at this Tapas restaurant. Isabella provided excellent service, and the food was outstanding. I can't wait to revisit. Dining at this restaurant costs approximately £40-50 per person, and I give the food, service, and atmosphere a perfect score of 5 out of 5. I highly recommend trying the Cheesecake and Peppers dishes.

We were thrilled to find out that La Familia is now serving lunch on Saturdays! We hadn't been in years since we can't go out for dinner as much anymore, but we have fond memories of the place. We decided to stop by for a relaxed lunch and savored some delicious sizzling prawns, tortilla, and paella. Everything was excellent. For dessert, we indulged in churros and crème catalana, which was a delightful way to end the meal. We will definitely be returning! View menu

This restaurant is fantastic! The staff is excellent, very polite and accommodating. The food is great and it's always a pleasure to dine there. They are very flexible with dietary restrictions, catering to allergies and vegetarians - just ask. There is a car park behind the restaurant with disabled parking available. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible with easy access. Dining in for dinner costs around £50-60 per person. The food, service, and atmosphere all receive a perfect rating of 5. Recommended dishes include the Paella and Cheesecake. There is plenty of parking available with paid parking options in a nearby lot or free street parking.

We pre-ordered a paella at this restaurant, and it was served to us within 2 minutes of our arrival. Unfortunately, the rice was overcooked and the fish was bland. We also ordered a jug of sangria, which was light on flavor, filled with ice, and lacked taste. We decided to try the tortilla, which arrived at our table just a few minutes after we ordered it. It was clear that the food had been pre-cooked and reheated before being served to us. Throughout our meal, we were repeatedly asked if we were finished eating, which made us feel rushed. Ultimately, we chose to leave the restaurant. We would recommend avoiding this establishment, as it is overpriced and lacks hospitality.

"I visited my elderly Mum today, she suggested going to the Derby Arms for a roast dinner as she'd eaten there recently with my sister. However they were fully booked, so I looked online and found Galu. The reviews were great and my Mum has only ever heard good things from friends and neighbours. So I called and booked for 12:45 Sunday 21st Jan 2024. We were both pleasantly surprised to see roast dinners on the menu ... Mum order lamb and I ordered beef part of their set menu. When the dinners arrived, you could see straight away that the lamb was Very Fatty (not even crispy) when my my tried eating it, it was both tough and chewy! As for the beef, this was cooked ok and edible, although I asked for the beef to be medium, but it was more well done. The waiter came over to ask if the meal was ok, I highlighted how the lamb was... the manager then came over and offered my Mum a slice of beef to compensate, bearing in mind she ordered lamb. Mum subsequently found that some of her roast potatoes were hard inside! I finished my meal, but could see Mum really didn't enjoy hers leaving a substantial amount on her plate, and having tried her lamb it really was inedible! We were then offered a full list of desserts rather than the set menu, having chocolate brownie and creme brûlée (both were gorgeous) When the bill arrived, I was hoping they would have somehow made amends, but alas no ... as Mum doesn't like to cause a fuss and it was her treat, I decided not to say anything, although the staff manager could tell we weren't happy. Having come from East Sussex for the day and regularly have great Sunday roasts in local pubs, I was hoping for something special in this restaurant, but sadly that wasn't the case. In fact it's probably one of the worst roast dinners I've had in a long time. I very much doubt we'll return ..."
