"When I went here with a dear friend for the first time in well over 20 years, I was uncertain whether it would meet my expectations. I needn 't have had any concerns whatsoever! The kitchen was as good as I remembered that is to...say very, very good! And the warm, friendly service was fantastic! Greeted as we entered the door by a smiling, friendly lady, she quickly made us feel 'at home. ' Our meals were prepared beautifully and served promptly, the beverages were very good, and the experience was an absolute hit for both of us. My friend, my best friend 's widow, had originally intended to take me elsewhere, but that 'Balkan ' restaurant was booked out due to Christmas parties, so we came to the Zagreb instead. We went to Trattoria Pizzeria Calabria twice during our week here on business, and were absolutely delighted both times. Excellent cuisine in a very comfortable setting with superb, warm and friendly service, at a very reasonable price. TripAdvisor ranks Restaurante Fattoria as #1 and Trattoria Pizzeria Calabria as #2 we tried both restaurants twice (because we enjoyed our first meal at each so much) and would agree with the rankings. Fattoria is in a different class in terms of cuisine and price. If money is no object and you only have time for one great meal in this area, go to Fattoria. If money is an object, or if you have time to try both, then Trattoria Pizzeria Calabria is the place to go."

"We walked to this restaurant from NH Hotel and found just what we were looking for! It seemed to be a family run, one of a kind cozy restaurant with good traditional German food. It is obviously a favorite local place as it was filled and everyone knew one another. There were no English menus (a good sign) but waitress spoke perfect English. She was very helpful and kind. My husband and I each had a .5 L beer and a wonderful mixed salad. I had the small schnitzel with mushrooms and cream gravy and french fries. He had goulash with roasted potatoes. No room for dessert. The bill was under 20 euro. We may have to fly thru Frankfurt on our next trip to Europe just to go back!"
