"On the occasion of our daughter’s birthday, we came to spend a good time with family and we were very happy with our experience in La Louvière. It was all together: the quality of the dishes, the quantity, the welcome of the team, the nice setting... we felt like home, because the atmosphere and service was both very pro and relaxed at once. In addition, the addition is quite reasonable in view of the finesse of the dishes. We would recommend this restaurant with closed eyes and have already planned to come back soon"

"Friendly and smiling welcome. Warm room. The weekend until 1pm, you can order the brunch formula at 17€. Nicely surprised. A good fruit juice, a mini croissant, a hot drink and a nice slice of charcuterie and omelette or scrambled eggs. What to do without ruining yourself after a fat morning"

"I was a resident in the Hotes des Francs for 3 nights, and each night ate in the restaurant. The Menu de Marche was perfectly designed for the business traveller, with 2 courses for 19E and 3 for 25E (excluding drinks). I also receved an amuse bouche on 2 nights. The courses were well thought out and reflective of local produce, although they relied heavily on the use of salad leaves rather than any 'real ' vegetables apart from in the soup (untried) and the Pot au Feu. This was disappointing as many of the meals could have benefitted. On the first night I had the Viande Grille, Frites, sauce au poivre and salade, followed by Entremets de Litchi. The main was as expected and the dessert was lovely but needed something a little more acidic to lift it perhaps if the sorbet had been lemon or passion fruit? Night two I had the crispy 'brick ' of chicken almonds and honey, followed by Chaud Biloute, and then Iced Parfait with chocolate and chestnuts. The brick needed a sauce to lubricate the filling (but was gorgeous), the Chaud Biloute was out of this world (better than Baked Camembert) and the parfait was OK but frozen so solid it was difficult to eat politely (especially as the base was a crispy chocolate rice cake) the flavoured cream provided was out of this world and I think more could have been made of that. On night 3 I dropped back to 2 courses, Pot au Feu followed by Tiramisu. The Pot au Feu came with a HUGE marrowbone, which while tasty, was far too much to eat comfortably and a little unwieldy as it took over the small dish it was served in. The rest of the stew was perfect and included some well seasoned broth and vegetables, as well as some melt in the mouth meat. The Tiramisu was tasty and came with some fresh fruits which cut the richness well. It was advertised as a 'Cafe ' Tiramisu but I did not detect any more coffee than is standard. I was not drinking so can 't comment on the quality or suitability of the wines or beers on offer. Service was attentive and patient with my halting French (with a good degree of English fluency when my efforts ran out) and service is included in the prices."

"Repas en famille (9 personnes et un petit de 4 ans), expérience très réussie en tous points. Tout d'abord, le cadre est magnifique, au pied du donjon de Septmonts, mais au delà de cet aspect, c'est la cuisine et l'accueil qui sont au top. Une mention spéciale pour le menu enfant, avec un poisson très bien cuisiné, ainsi que pour la carte des vins, particulièrement diversifiée pour convenir à tous les goûts et toute les bourses. Un beau menu complet à 33 euros qui peut se décliner en entrée/plat ou plat/dessert pour 25 euros. Un excellent risotto de légumes pour la personne végétarienne de la bande également. Nous n'hésiterons pas à revenir dès que possible."

"We found this little restaurant on the outskirts of Laon. We shared our dishes. I tried the tartiflette plate, lardon/ham, potatoes and a wonderful strong cheese. My spouse had a large salad with chicken gizzards nicely cooked and tender. The food was freshly prepared and delicious and the lady server was helpful and pleasant. Laon is an interesting town, with upper and lower parts.....towering over the town, its Gothic cathedral is beautiful and worth visiting."
