"We popped in to get a table but they were fully booked. We made a reservation for the next day. As soon as we went in the waitress remembered us and showed us immediately to our table. All of the staff were very friendly. We ordered the deep-fried mussels (Tigres) which were very tasty. They were like mussel croquet, served in half a shell, covered in breadcrumbs and deep fried. I would definitely have them again. For the mains, my wife had ham, egg and chips which to me sounded very boring. However, it was not like the ham eggs and chips we would have here. It was as if the chips, eggs and ham were cooked and then all mixed together and then shaped into a flat-topped cone with an egg on top. I had the deep-fried cod which was very tasty. The batter was very dry and the cod was in no way greasy. The cod could have been shared. It didn't come with any side dish. I asked the waitress to pick a bottle of local wine to go and she picked one at 22.50 euros. It was called Trevejos and went well with both dishes. All in, including a dessert and another glass of wine, was 85 euros. Service and food were very good. I would have no problem going back."

Servicio y comida genial. Hay un pero, muy importante, y es que las raciones son muy pequeñas para lo que cobran por cada una de ellas. No volveremos

Cosy establishment just off the Rambla Santa Cruz. Outdoor sitting as well as indoor. We waited at the bar for a table to become available, as we had no booking. Full menu of fish and meat dishes as well as the day’s specials. We had the cherne (Atlantic wreckfish) which was beautifully cooked and the pork sirloin in goats cheese sauce, which didn’t disappoint. A bottle of Rueda Verdejo was perfect for the occasion. Excellent service and quality, adequately priced. Would 100% recommend.

La Posada was highly recommended to us, and we foolishly hadn’t made a recommendation for Saturday lunch, clearly one of its busiest times. Even though the manager staff were rushed off their feet they made us feel at home, as sat at the bar where eat a most delicious, good value lunch. We likened this small neighbourhood restaurant to the eatery in New York where Helen Hunt was the server to well heeled regular’s such as Jack Nicholson; apparently some diner’s visit daily, or at least once a week. We most certainly would if we lived in Santa Cruz. Excellent !
