"We went here for lunch on a rainy Saturday. 2 adults and 1 small child. We arrived late but still in time to have lunch – in Spain lunch is served until very late in the afternoon. Lucky us! The restaurant is cosy, and it felt warm getting in there. We were immediately seated and given some starters. Nothing memorable. After checking out the menu we realized it was vast, but they served a “combined menu” of a first dish, a second one, one drink and dessert for something like 15 euros which wasn’t bad. Being Portuguese, we’re not used to this 2 dishes system but since we have the baby we actually welcome it as we can just split everything between the 3 of us and taste more and different things. It wasn’t different here. The service was surprisingly fast which means the combined menu was a good choice as the food is usually fresh. The “migas” and the soup were very good and tasty, and the grilled meat also lived up to the expectations. We asked for pork and lamb. All very nicely cooked and in a reasonable quantity. The dessert was also to die for. Up until this point one must conclude that this was a good experience – and I won’t say it wasn’t. But it had 2 red flags, both very important for me when visiting a restaurant. The waiter was not nice. Lacked a smile on his face and instead had a face of being there doings us (customers) a huge favour. I’m not saying he was not competent but nowadays eating out is not for everyone so you should make people feel welcome and smile at the ones who pay your salary. The other red flag was that before the main dishes we asked for the famous ham “croquettes” that were very good and tasty at first but once you got to the middle section of each one of them you could feel an ice rock. They were fried in boiling oil but not enough to reach the inside of them, so the core was frozen at first, just cold after a while absorbing the heat from the rest of it. It’s really something that bothered me. This two red flags led me to complain and not leave a tip. We paid around 40 euros for this meal and were surprised when we got out and checked the receipt, we paid for all the drinks apart from the menu. This was shocking but since we had pointed out the problems I wrote above earlier we didn’t bother to return and argue anymore. It’s a pity this happened to us. We actually liked the ambience and the food."

"We went on a mountain weekend and upon arrival this was one of the nearest and most recommended places. On the first night we were tired and wanted to eat quickly to go to bed so we went to the restaurant and asked for a couple of meat dishes – lamb chops and pork secretos . The first impression is that one of a cold and old place but we gave the benefit of the doubt as it was recommended by a local as I wrote before. The waitress behind the bar was nice enough to greet us and ask us to stay in that area instead of the restaurant as there were no small tables in there – we were 2 adults and a small child. We agreed and soon after we were served dry bread and the drinks. The menu is vast, which isn’t a good sign, so we just asked for what was more popular among the customers and gave it a go. We also asked for some croquettes for a starter. The service was relatively fast. The croquettes were awful and served on plain lettuce with no seasoning at all like the one you give your cricket. Very salty and overcooked croquettes , meaning they were also overpriced. The meat is what you can see in the picture I’m uploading with my review. Normal and simple grilled meat accompanied with fried potatoes. The size is what amazed me the most – it’s a children’s portion, not something you serve an adult. Given this issue, the price was also, in my opinion, exaggerated. At a given point we started looking for the waiters to ask for another drink but they weren’t around and the couple of times we spotted them behind the counter they didn’t even lift their eyes to our room so we just had 1 drink, no dessert, and out we went. Paid on the counter. Around 34 euros. On the second night, after arriving late at our cabin nearby, and given these guys had a homemade pizza they’d deliver to the place we were staying at, we asked for the pizza and “oh boy” it was great. They mix quite a good variety of local and national ingredients and make great pizzas. The base is thin and crispy, which all together make the pizza a great choice. The pizzas are relatively cheap, too. About 10 euros each. So, all in all this is a normal place with great pizzas. Perhaps they should focus more on it than in serving simple grilled meat in embarrassing quantities for the prices asked and the waiting service provided."
