"Very friendly (as are most restaurants and people in this region). Huge portions of good food and efficient service. Prices are reasonable, so it is easy to over order! Personally I would avoid the marinated Partridge if I were to visit again but the other dishes that we had were delicious."

De lo mejorcito de Riopar, los nuevos propietarios del negocio son super amables y atentos. El menú buenísimo y calidad/precio más que aceptable. Lo recomiendo encarecidamente.

Eat with the locals. Kind and efficient service. I think the waiter might have been the owner's son. Good food and good bottle of cava. Absolutely recommend you eat here plus you support the local economy.

"We went here for lunch on a rainy Saturday. 2 adults and 1 small child. We arrived late but still in time to have lunch – in Spain lunch is served until very late in the afternoon. Lucky us! The restaurant is cosy, and it felt warm getting in there. We were immediately seated and given some starters. Nothing memorable. After checking out the menu we realized it was vast, but they served a “combined menu” of a first dish, a second one, one drink and dessert for something like 15 euros which wasn’t bad. Being Portuguese, we’re not used to this 2 dishes system but since we have the baby we actually welcome it as we can just split everything between the 3 of us and taste more and different things. It wasn’t different here. The service was surprisingly fast which means the combined menu was a good choice as the food is usually fresh. The “migas” and the soup were very good and tasty, and the grilled meat also lived up to the expectations. We asked for pork and lamb. All very nicely cooked and in a reasonable quantity. The dessert was also to die for. Up until this point one must conclude that this was a good experience – and I won’t say it wasn’t. But it had 2 red flags, both very important for me when visiting a restaurant. The waiter was not nice. Lacked a smile on his face and instead had a face of being there doings us (customers) a huge favour. I’m not saying he was not competent but nowadays eating out is not for everyone so you should make people feel welcome and smile at the ones who pay your salary. The other red flag was that before the main dishes we asked for the famous ham “croquettes” that were very good and tasty at first but once you got to the middle section of each one of them you could feel an ice rock. They were fried in boiling oil but not enough to reach the inside of them, so the core was frozen at first, just cold after a while absorbing the heat from the rest of it. It’s really something that bothered me. This two red flags led me to complain and not leave a tip. We paid around 40 euros for this meal and were surprised when we got out and checked the receipt, we paid for all the drinks apart from the menu. This was shocking but since we had pointed out the problems I wrote above earlier we didn’t bother to return and argue anymore. It’s a pity this happened to us. We actually liked the ambience and the food."
