from a French perspective, it would be a typical restaurant with good food at a reasonable price. but, compare this to most American restaurants, food and service here would be excellent! After having been in france for a while, it is easy to accept exceptional food as simply "typical" and to forget how poor most American restaurants are with dull menus and barely edible food. even salads are cleverly prepared, a visual feast for the eyes and tasty for the palace.

since we are at paris, we want to experience betting, so we do not choose the hotel's breakfast, we eat in a local coffee shop. We ate in the Maubourg tower 3 times for breakfast because the "French breakfast" was exactly what we wanted (to bet, eat like a Parisian). The waiter recognized us after our first visit and remembered our coffee and food choices, so I would say they were very friendly! We would have tried this place for dinner, but we always seemed to be in another neighborhood of the city at dinner time.
