"I had lunch with my wife in the restaurant in the forest hat old town on a cold and rainy day. we had a quick look at the menu in the box on the wall outside and decided that we liked what we saw. we have...slept and came into a cozy and warm restaurant in old style. the restaurants have existed since 1729 and are managed by the current owners since 1989. we sat quickly from a friendly waitress who took our order after a few minutes. the restaurant is tastefully decorated and I liked the paper floor mats with a painting by pieter bruegel the bauern wedding very suitable for the restaurant interior. my wife ordered the goulash suppe and a large mixed salad. I have the gypsy steak. we had a little king ludwig bright beer for my wife and a big dark for me. the beer came fast and all the dishes were brought together as we asked. eating was very good. the personal friendly and fast and we enjoyed the experience and will certainly come back on our next trip to waldshut. the bill without drinking money amounted to 33.40 euro"

Beware of the food: Worst Rösti I have ever had. Käsespätzle not much better. Not worth the Euros. Friendly service though.

Very nice place with cheerful service and excellent food reasonably priced. The only negative we could find was not able to pay by credit cards.

perhaps because we came shortly before the kitchen was closed .... the food was good but nothing special and did not come to the niceties of the interior very nice staff! View menu

The restaurant looks like a typical german brewery, the athmosphere is nice, the service is good and fast, the food is ok, tasty, but pre-cooked, and prices are really affordable.

Personal is warm and welcoming but the place is too small. I was alone and my little table was just enough to contain dish and beer. Tables are too close each other. About food, nothing special, eaten steak, very tasteful but garnish a bit poor.

my friend and I were looking for a place to lunch, the atmosphere had, but was not too expensive. I think we have a new favorite place. they serve rösti and squander among many other Germans. they may have to make reservations if they want to sit up, but the cellar was clean and private. the food was delicious and the waiting staff was friendly. the Mediterranean rösti was very tasty, with a good selection of well-grilled vegetables. the lachsfilet was also very tasty, with a lot of interesting sweet garnish. nothing salty, nothing sour, very beautifully spiced. the apfelstrudel and the coffee were average, but we had nothing against all the other super, beautiful atmosphere and very friendly staff.

I have been there for lunch. The restaurant is on the main street and is usually packed with customers, so it is advisable to book in advance. The staff is friendly and very efficient. Food is good and portions are quite large too. good selection...of beers. Decent place for children too. The underground floor is very spacey and more quiet than the upper one and there is plenty of space for the stroller. I recommend Lamm without hesitation.
