"a restaurant where the setting and service are not at the level of the kitchen. in this room that hides badly that the last deep renovation has to date from the 1960s, one has the feeling of an aging institution. the customers, very old for this summer lunch, reinforces this sense of truth. If in addition you have the misfortune to be placed between the cash register, the toilets (where there is a blister on two) and the kitchen, under a ceiling nailed to the antédiluven luminaires, you will enjoy a moment rythmated by the noises of mixer, dishes, cutlery, exchanges between the kitchen and the room staff. Indeed, one of the waitresses is clearly disturbed by the fact that every time the kitchen door is pushed, and prefers to open it. at its discharge, the door, old, seems heavy and unsuitable for the demands of the service. but the customer does not want to have lunch in a star in the kitchen noises! So yes, the prices are fairly low, which makes the michelin star accessible, but it is not at the level of refinement and overall quality of the experience that can be expected in this type of establishment. I still put 4 stars because the dishes are of quality and the ratio quality price, very satisfying. as to the venetian character, he can have his share of charm."

"Finding Les Platanes de Chenas takes a little effort but it will be well rewarded when you get there. A dining room with a stunning view over the Beaujolais vineyards is only the start. The menu is just excellent, service is professional and pleasant, and the wine list is what you'd expect. We had an amuse bouche of creme brulee with fois gras an unusual combination on paper but excellent in actuality. Starters of chestnut soup, lobster, and rabbit terraine were all very good as were the mains of char, steak, and lamb. Cheese was very good too with a special mention for the camembert with pepper. Desserts were good too. And the bill was EUR230 for 4, including two bottles of excellent local wine and two bottles of water. Worth a visit if you are in the locality."

"we arrived on Sunday and have the superior room we booked. fantastic! the room in the room and the layout is wonderful, the design and layout is kreatiw and imaginatiw. the restaurant has been 15 years since we last stayed and ate. with some interest we went to the restaurant, and because of the warm weather we sat in the yard that was great. Surrounded by guests and locals we were really well maintained. obviously in 15 years the menu had changed, but that didn't leave us. from a starter course we have ordered goat cheese with melone for my wife and my was an salat with lobster, beautiful. the most important courses were sea bass for the dame and salmon for me also wonderful, (not over salted etc.) no salt or pfeffer cross on the table as it should be, we came to taste the eating of chef presented. Dessert course consisted of a soufflé of chocolate with a top of brewed aprikosen with cherry, and my heavenly was in a beautiful juice, with skyberry sorbet, so a joy to clean the palette. a very high quality meal. that will remain one of my favorite restaurants and we will be back. at the end of the dinner alaine bleton approached the owners to every table and spoke to each of the diners. Although his English is not good, we tried hard in French and could communicate our joy and history with him. I like this in a restaurant, eating is a big common earth. the breakfast was light and refreshing yet fulfilled for the beginning of another day of the trip. monsuier bleton spoke again with us, as well as his wife, who is fluent in English, we have a bientot from alaine with the commentary, and that was meant we will be back. if they are in the region beaujolais, this is a place that is not to be missed."
