"The Grand Cafe is unlike anything you 'd expect, located a 10 minute drive from central St Tropez, it is really worth the extra effort to visit. Ignore the current website as The Grand Cafe has new owners and has undergone a substantial fit out. Various rooms are decorated and furnished in an eclectic mix of colonial and contemporary style with a Japanese/Asian twist. Outside the 'Out of Africa ' driftwood structures provide shade. The greeting is warm and unpretentious. Booking is essential to avoid disappointment despite the extensive amount of covers. The menu is diverse and offers traditional kitchen, sushi and BBQ grill cooking. The Japanese/Asian Fusion food is exquisite, the presentation and complexity of the dishes is superb. No tasting portions here. The wine list is extensive and covers all preferences from around the world, as you 'd expect Cote de Provence Rose features extensively! This is a 'people place ' couples, families and groups of friends can all experience the great atmosphere and cuisine whether in a table for 2, a large table or a semi private booth there is something for everyone. Service is efficient, timely yet relaxed, you are here to relax, savour and enjoy, the meter certainly didn 't feel as if it started running the moment you walked through the door. So forget the tourist trap restaurants at the harbour, get away from it all and embrace the atmosphere at the Grand Cafe. Take your dancing shoes too as many a night there is live music and dancing! I defy you not to be amazed at the crispy prawns or the tuna tataki, the Japanese Squid salad is delicious and the sautéed duck devine. So give your tastebuds a gastronomic delight and yourself an experience that will leave a lasting memory and a desire to return."

Spiste en god middag og desser som kan anbefales. Hvet ikke om det er vanlig på dette stedet men det ble moteshov midt under maten med mange fotografer. Morsomt bidrag.

A good restaurant with a beautiful terrace in the center. Map with a nice variety of meats. Average price, from 25 to 80€ for a meat or maturation of Yagu. Very good dish of the day around 15/17€, child menu at 10€.

Purposely booked a table here because they had a vegan risotto on their menu, then when ordering was told it was only “a little bit vegan” so not vegan at all because it had cream in it. So instead they offered a pasta with vegetables which wasn’t on the menu, I asked if they could make it with tomato sauce to which they replied yes. A bland bowl of pasta came swimming in oil and no tomato sauce. Avoid if your vegan. Go up the road to La Ponche great vegan options. View menu

The Grand Café ended up being a great place to people watch and just take in Cannes. It is located just across the street from the pier with ample shade trees, and outside seating. The staff were so nice and accommodating. The menu has many offerings for just about every taste. They serve bread with tapenades at the start of the meal which went well with the drinks we ordered. I would recommend Le Grand Café as a great place to stop after shopping, sightseeing or just a place to stop and relax.

"we had the 5 course menu, 1 normal, 1 vegetarian. the vegetarian was good but not up to the standard we experienced in similar establishments and not on the level of the non-vegetarian. waiters also did not mention it. it was just a small part on the bottom of the menu. we felt that's also about the appreciation it got from the chef. in our opinion, if u offer a vegetarian menu, it must be on an equal level as the rest of the menu. it wasn't (seems as if les légumes alone just are not much of an inspiration to the chef which clearly reflected in the courses). it wasn't bad but from a 3 star restaurant I expect fireworks even without meat; especially if the theme is provénce. the normal 5 course menu was good but the overuse of grapefruit started to annoy me after the second time 4 or so slices were used on my dish as it was way too sour, clearly overshadowing the other flavors and the note of sour even persisted through the coursesafter the palette refreshener which also contained some lemon notes came the dessert (kind of lemon tart) which was so sour that we both could not finish it. it was like a punch in the face after such perfectly and tastefully balanced 4 previous courses that explored familiar and unfamiliar flavor profiles and combinations (on a deserved 3 star level in my opinion - even though I missed obvious associations to la provénce). the rest of the desserts (which seemed to make up of 30%+ of the overall food volume; no idea why such an emphasis on sweet/sour for just a 5 course meal) couldn't help and were clearly on a much lower level as the rest of the food which was very disappointing to us. also, to be honest, lemon notes belong more to Italy than to the provence (google oops I dropped the lemon tart). all in all a mixed experience which started strong and gradually worsened. A bite into a lemon or grapefruit would have given me a purer taste of la provence if i wanted to explore the perfect sour note. service was excellent, excited and friendly. wine pairing good."
