"I had seen this place and Jean Pierre on TV: "No Reservations" with Anthony Bourdain. I made a note of it. But we had our boat here on a Monday, and a lot of restaurants are closed. The hours aren't posted on Tripadvisor, and the website took forever to load: when it did, it seemed to say it wasn't open on monday. But it IS open in Monday. We went to Mono Prix and bought a huge couteau a pain (bread knife). It didn't fit in our pockets, so I laid it on our table when we sat down for lunch. Jean Pierre walked by, saw the knife, and asked, "What is this?" I replied, "Pour la Maison". I thought I knew him from his face, but he looks VERY French. He picked up the knife and said to my husband, "Votre femme est dangereuxe." (Your wife is dangerous). Our meal was the plats du jour: poisson (lobster claw, white fish, salmon, scallops) and tartare de boeuf that came on baby lettuces with a side of perfectly prepared potatos(and I'm not big on potatos). I can't say enough about each. Presentation, quality, preparation, ingredients-22€ each. They brought three amuses bouches, all interesting and wonderful. Pitcher of Irancy rouge for 17.50€ and it was better than many bottles we've had on this trip. Dessert: trio of ice creams with MANY flavors from which to choose, and I had warm cherries (there had to be 40 or more) with vanilla ice cream. The whole bill was 61€. We were stuffed. The waiters and hostess were very nice. I called Jean Pierre over to say I recognized him from No Reservations. He brought out Anthony Bourdain's book and the book from Bourdain's friend who was Jean Pierre's sous chef who does pop up restaurants somewhere in the States. He was so humble and charming. He lives for that restaurant, and it shows. We just lucked into it. As he said, "Le monde est petit". Oui."

We did choose this as its a Michelin Restaurant. My wife had Monkfish in a lobstersauce with some small scampis it was very good. I had Mignon Veau Morilles and the meat was not the best, dry and hard, sauce was good.

Excellent meal! We discovered it while walking looking for a place due that it was getting late and boom, a great seat, the Chef and staff were all very nice. The beef cheeks and kidneys were out of this world!!! Delicious and good priced. Well worth it View menu

We stopped by for lunch and were super pleased with our choice. Chef came out to say hi (he only speaks French) to the patrons. We had the plate and dessert menu and it was spectacular. Great Chablis wine as well. I had the beef with noodles and my husband had the seafood dish. Both were perfect.

Dinner was delicious at Le Rendez-Vous. We had escargot, eggs poached in wine (meurett), charolais beef, profiteroles and Chablis. The Bernaise sauce was the best and they did the beef perfectly! Although this restaurant we recommended by the Aquarelle people, it was the local butcher who convinced us. He even checked in on us there. Also, it seemed to be the only restaurant open on Tuesday.

We were recommended this restaurant by some locals and are really grateful because otherwise we may have walked past it. Its simple appearance is deceptive because the food is delicious with some unusual items on the menu. My husband is still talking about his starter of poached egg in a Bourguignonne sauce. Surprising but it worked. Beware of the coffee though; about the strongest I've ever tasted.. Not for the faint hearted or insomniacs. After a gourmet meal with wine and cognac the modest bill was also a pleasant surprise. View menu

A wonderful modern feel serving up classics. Our last night in Auxerre we chose this restaurant that Tony Bourdain hadfeatured on his show as a fitting place to enjoy the local cuisine. The food was delicious and service although it was crowded was deftly handled by Madame after a slight delay in a drink being brought to our table where one of our party opted out from the wine selection. Once appraised of this oversight she made sure that he was not parched the rest of the meal.A lovely mix of clients, great food and delightful experience! Highly recommended

Can't believe our luck in choosing this restaurant at random from whatever was open on a Monday evening. Then I recognized the picture of Jean-Luc Petitrenaud (French foodie and TV personality) on the wall with our esteemed chef. It was truly an "impeccable" (the French sense) meal and I told him so. He and the other staff waited patiently while our party of 8 (boaters from the canal/river) cleaned our plates and closed the place. It is not impressive from the outside, but who cares. The food was prepared and presented with great skill. The fish trio and foie gras and beef cheeks and wines and warm cherries for dessert, I could go on, but you get the picture.
