"I’m afraid my experience of this restaurant was not so good. We had read good reports about it before we went but sadly we were disappointed. For starters we had “Feuilleté d’escargots à la fondue de poireaux.” The snails were OK, all 2 of them but the leeks were tasteless and under seasoned. For main we had “Faux filet sauce Epoisses, pommes darphin et haricots verts”. The steak was cooked beautifully [rare, just the way I like it] and tasted brilliant BUT, it was VERY chewy, not what I had expected. The potatoes were nice and the haricots were perfection. Desert was more disappointing. We had Crème brulée à la prunelle. I didn’t taste any apples and the brulee tasted like chilled, over set ‘Birds’ custard. Both my husband and I were ill the next day. Now, I’m not saying it was this meal that made us ill, as we had ate other things the previous day; but I just thought it was worth a mention."

Good quality food and friendly service. Choice of two menus at reasonable prices (26 or 40 for three courses). Good selection of local wine. Does take quite some time between courses,

Two of us had Beef Bourguignon which was outstanding, and two of us had chicken cordon bleu which we also enjoyed very much. Our entire experience at Le Tast'Vin was enjoyable. The wait staff was very good. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We had lunch at this restaurant just opposite the railway station. We were seven people and tried four different courses. Everybody was happy, either they had boef borgogne, tartar, risotto or cheeseburger! We had to wait for the food, but with nice wines in our glases, who cares?

We only stopped in for coffee, but it was flavorsome and excellent. Nice staff, the food others were being served looked very good. Unfortunately we only found it the day before we left while organising our train ticket to Paris. We would definitely have eaten there had we stayed another night. View menu

The weather for our journey through France to Italy was "pant", so we have to compensate with eating our way round townsThis restaurant was absolutely fantastic as we had stopped earlier in the day for a drink and spoke with the owner and bookedThe food was very enjoyable and "French" Thanks for the experience

We had a very pleasant dinner at Le Tast'Vin while staying in Beaune. The restaurant, at a hotel is attractive and service was good. My faux fillet wasn't as tender as I would have liked but it was really rare as I had asked and the frîtes were excellent. My friend had an enormous salad of beans and fried Camembert. She loved it but couldn't finish it. We finished off our meal with superb cassis sorbet.

The restaurant is part of the Hotel de France where we stayed the night. It offers a good range of traditional French cooking with a choice of 2 menus or al la carte. All courses were well presented and well cooked. The steak in particular was extremely good. A slight disappointment was the lack of vegetables to accompany the main courses. The wine list was extensive, but being Burgundy, not cheap. Service was very efficient, friendly and attentive. View menu

The winemaker's fondue hides in the back of the menu, but it was real find. The portions are large, so don't order any appetizers. We had the wine based fondue, and it arrived with large portions of beef and chicken. It was accompanied by salad (with a mustard dressing), bread and french fries. Various mustards and sauces for dipping were included. The dips complemented the meats, being fondued in wine made the meat really tasty. They have a short, but good list of wines by the glass, so a glass of wine rounded out the meal. It was really a good meal, we were not able to finish all the meat even after lingering a while. The service was good.

Le Tast'Vin is located by the train station, a short walk outside the old town, but worth a diversion. My wife and I chose a three course Burgundian menu for a very reasonable 25 Euros, starting with a lovely mussels-based amuse bouche followed by snails in a delicious, deep, creamy sauce. The mains were also regional favourites and were also very good, whilst the cheese (Epoisses) was predictably scrumptious. As you'd hope given the name of the place, the wine list is extensive and offers some really interesting options. After much deliberation we plumped for a Chambolle Musigny with a spectacular cherry aroma which was a brilliant accompaniment to our meal.

"Our 5th stay in Beaune and we were recommended this restaurant by the Gite owners.Lovely and Cosy. Has a small private tabled area at the back for small groups/couples but the real experience is up at the counter where you can watch the chef(s) in action. Entertaining and educating. Watch them prepare, cook and present your meal.SERVICEAttentive. Greeted, seated and provided a menu very quickly. Waitress maintained an eye on our wine and water glasses and made sure we were looked after. She was eager to explain all aspects for the set menu and wines.FOODGreat experience watching the chef’s from the 1st instance where they select and prepare ingredients for each dish. Developing the sauces, selecting the condiments and assembling the dishes with care and experience. The lunch was a delight. The dishes were well presented, superbly cooked and a joy to eat.WINEWine by the glass was excellent. We tried 3 different types of the white from dry to sweet. Reasonably priced and enjoyable. My only other observation was that the chef (who I believe is also the owner) often spent time staring into space while waiting for food to complete its cooking ritual and seemed quite distant. I had the feeling he had other things weighing on his mind. Would have been great to have a chat with him to add to the lunch experience. I hope whatever he was thinking about doesn’t stop him from continuing to run La Superb as they serve up a real culinary treat."
