"Though I'd probably go right out and say that the first time we dined here with my in-laws back in 2012 when I visited Paris for the first time, was far memorable in terms of food and atmosphere. Perhaps because it was much later in the evening and the place had the kind of vibe that i would only ever really associate with the city and its people. A few days ago, we were back again at Wepler - only this time with our toddle and it was for an early dinner. We had our favourite les huîtres for entreé, Pavé de Cabillaud and soupe à l’oignon gratinée for me and another main for my husband, the name of which escapes me at the moment. Although it wasn't technically oyster season, we find the oysters served us to be very good and fresh. The onion soup was fantastic and a good complement to the fish that I had for my main. But more than the food, what we truly appreciated was the friendliness of the staff who served us. They were very playful with our son and would stop by every now and then to check on our food and comfort. Wonderful people! Price-wise, it may be slightly more expensive than other brasseries nearby, but Wepler is quite famous (i've been told) and truth is, you do get the quality and service you pay for. Can't complain!:)"

We dined at Le Wepler with our 2 kids aged 8 and 11. We enjoyed beautiful food and excellent service. The seafood display is unique and we saw many people ordering platters. We stuck to the bistro classics. The waiters are charming.

This was an institution in Paris but the while service is really awfull .... the food is average, nothing exceptional and very expensive for what it is !You will find around Place de Clichy plenty of better places to eat or cheaper firbthe same quality.

Never had seafood this good. French oysters and best mignoette sauce. oood as our local Hog Island. Ray had a whole bream and loved it and the old fashioned service, where they deboned the fish. The cognac was wonderful if pricey, but absolutely worth it!+ View menu

We were rushing to get food as we had a flight to catch, we have let time catch up to us and had to eat somewhere before we left the city. The cheeseburger was a frozen burger the first I came across in Paris and the fries that came with it dripping in oil. Try to find somewhere else if you can we were limited due to it being Whit Monday and with one of us being a vegetarian

One of the land marks as far as see food in Paris.Good quality of the food and nice service. Plateau Royal up to the fame. Nice and professional service.Good competence for wine service.Every time I come to Paris I try to get here once. This time I found however a little less enhusiasm as the game got impoverished and slow. Menu still ok but old tastes driven, now genuine freshness. This made our experience here not very enthusiastic as used to be. Evironement crumbling and need some refresh.

We only learned later that this place is something of a landmark. It was nearby our hotel and the fresh seafood caught our eyes. I cannot speak for anything else on the menu, but we ordered a mixed seafood platter and an oysters platter along with a few draft beers and have no complaints. Fast and friendly service, outstanding food. Is it a bit pricey? Sure, but the food was of very high quality and, as far as the oysters go, were not things I can find back home. Next time we visit Paris we would for sure make a plan to come back here. View menu

it was my fourth visit to this fascinating restaurant and I have to say: things have changed. food is always top quality: fresh and beautifully served, but service is no longer the one it used to be.half of the menu was not available and the waiters (all male, as in traditional french bistrots) are very much in a hurry so they won't spend much time with you if you don't make up your mind in a very short time lapse.oysters are fresh and offer an excellent taste, fish plates still at the top, good selection of wines.a pity that the service is no longer as professional as it was before.

Established 1881, a well-known brasserie frequented over the decades by the artists of the nearby theatres and entertainment establishments, with a gigantic mural of the Belle Epoque, apparently painted some 20 years ago by the artist-wife of a long-standing client. We just dropped by for a cuppa tea on a rather uncharacteristic cold and windy afternoon in early May. Comfortable upholstered benches and chairs, a good place to while away time when the weather outside is nasty. Cannot comment on the food quality as we did not eat here, but the ambience was nice, the waiter rather taciturn but not unfriendly and the manager, who explained us the story behind the painting, very personable.
