"we stopped here on Sunday, 11th juli 2021, for lunch. there were 7 of us with 3 adults and 4 children. they were very accommodating and due to Kovid restrictions had to have 2 separate tables on top with the children on one table and the adult on another. they offer them menu for drinks, but the menu is shown on board at their walls, so I assume that the menu changes daily, which I think is fantastic, as it is clearly very seasonal. we really enjoyed a Sunday roast, which they like to publish on the menus, provided that on Sunday all are about their roasts. Unfortunately, they had sold out of the lamb so that we had settled on roast beef. I have to say that it was the best bratbeef we had. the bark is served on a dish with a big Yorkshire pudding and a rich bark sword. another plate contains a medley of roasted carrots, delicate trunk brokkoli, mangetout and roasted potatoes with extra gravure on the side in a small jug of it itself. the carrots were incredible. I would like to know what they did to make them so delicious. they even took care of our incredibly fussy daughter and went out menu and hit a series of American style pancakes, with sausage and stir for her and the pancakes were light, soft and fluffy and a beautiful vanilla taste to them. if this function as an early piece article, I would have them in any case. if they are in the opposite and are looking for a really good meal, do not hesitate and get them for mannion co."

Buttermilk burger is amazing! Will definitely be back for that. Eggs Benedict breakfast was okay, quite small for the price. Staff always lovely and welcoming

This restaurant in Helmsley is a charming spot for lunch. The menu offers a variety of dishes served in a picturesque, historic building. The service is friendly and the prices are reasonable.

had a nice lunch there. eating was very nice, so the glass wee. the lady who served us was really nice, I guess she's the owner. everyone was kind, I can't blame her. will definitely go back when we are in the opposite.

What an amazing find! Basics are done right. Hot tea in a warm cup. Most amazing scones, tasted so good and big! My husband had cheese of toast but it’s nothing like we’ve ever had before, the taste was so good. Great atmosphere, polite staff, clean. I wish I lived near this place. View menu

visited on Saturday to be welcomed by the very friendly staff, smile, courteous and very attentive. we had the mushrooms on toast and pork belly sandwiches that were fantastic! the experience surpassed the expectations when after the meal I received a few more details and spoke with connor who could take the time to speak with me and followed as he said this morning.

definitiw the 5 stars worth! very friendly staff, gave up my lunch with a part of the parmesian truffle chips that were pure evil. I couldn't stop eating them! my little loved the icy hot chocolate, perfect for the heat wave. place is relatiw small and quite expensive, but it was fucking busy and where is not expensive today, but this place and quality of the food made it worth every penny

After reading my previous review, you would see that I had rated this restaurant as excellent. However, our experience last Friday was quite the opposite. We found the cost of lunch to be very poor in comparison to what we received. We ordered 3 fish sandwiches, a pork belly sandwich, 4 mouthfuls of food, 3 teas, 1 cappuccino, and 3 truffle fries, all totaling around £80. While we understand that costs have gone up, we would gladly pay if we were satisfied with our meal. Unfortunately, we left feeling very disappointed. Overall, it was a poor dining experience. I booked the table for 2 overlooking Helmsley Castle for a 40th Birthday Breakfast. Initially, I spoke on the phone to Alex the Manager. He was very helpful when I asked if I could post some 40th confetti for them to put on the table prior to our arrival, he agreed with no problem. The day before our arrival I rang again to confirm arrangements. I spoke to Ruby who had it all in hand. When we arrived the table was set and complimentary champagne was supplied a lovely special touch. We ordered breakfast coffee which was excellent and were waited on hand and foot. Thank you to all who helped make our morning extra special.

We 've eaten here on numerous occasions and really enjoyed our meals/cakes. Today was a mixed bag. OH had the scrambled eggs and smoked salmon which he pronounced delicious and beautifully cooked. I however made the mistake of ordering the Pork Belly sandwich. It arrived looking very appealing with a lovely piece of crisp cracking on the side. Inside however, the thick slab of pork belly was less appetising. Half was soft, flabby fat which I found impossible to eat. The mayonnaise only increased the fattiness and made the bread unpleasantly greasy so in the end, a few mouthfuls of pork and some small gherkins proved to be an expensive 'meal '. Yes I know I should 've said something at the ti...

"We arrived and walked into the pub.. there wasn't any sort of reception area.. the lady serving showed us our room. The room smelt damp.we went out for dinner said we would be back 10ish pm, we got back at 10.08pm. It was raining. We tried to get in everywhere was locked up.. we were getting wet and cold, we honked the car horn and rang the door bell.. nothing, so we phoned the property. No one answered it went to an answer machine,we sat back in the car , we were soaked and stuck outside..no way to get in.. Eventually a man walked from the bottom field and asked if we were the residents stuck outside? Apparently his manager had rang him to go have a look, he made it clear to us that he wasn't suppose to be working till Monday but he has had to come up to let us in... he let us in and locked up and off he went. My brother realised then he had left his phone in the car so went to get it but we were locked in. The fact that we were now locked in was very concerning as to fire and safety regulations, hoe would you get out in the situation.. but anyway atleast we were indoors and vould go to bed albeit that the room smelt so strongly of damp, but we had no choice, we were out in the middle of nowhere , which we thought would be a nice place to stay, but unfortunately not.... we had 3 flights of stairs to our room..a damp room, and no access after 10pm although we had said what time we were returning..we would have eaten there if the meals had been reasonably priced. Really not the best place to stay.."
