Marcus - Menu

Our experience at Marcus was amazing ,the whole team looked after us . Virginia our wine sommelier was outstanding and so knowledgeable about our wine pairing. Mlad was attentive and he made us feel really comfortable .This was a birthday surprise for me and every expectation was fulfilled

Disappointed Marcus experience so not cheap £880 food was very mediocre neither of us enjoyed the cauliflower dish flavours too strong drowned the truffle, my cod main course sauce was far too vinegary. No tour of the kitchen and charged £22 I assume for my mint tea. Company was great but was hoping to show him what Michelin star was like it missed the mark :

Enjoyed a fantastic meal with my wife. We chose the lunch menu, both having salmon before I had the pork (v v good) and my wife the halibut. We followed that by sharing the cheese board before we finished with deserts (again 10/10) The somalier chose some excellent wines by the glass to accompany the meall. Great food and fantastic service !! Will definitely visit again once the new location is announced!!

Marcus at the Berkley really is an elegant backdrop to some pretty wonderful and creative food. Despite not carrying the kudos it may have had during its 2* era it remains a mighty establishment for top end dining. Polished, unstuffy service in beautiful surroundings lends the place a lovely, relaxed ambiance. I believe the Berkeley will miss this place tremendously when it finally closes its doors in December. I’m certainly glad we were able to sample its wares before the end.

Phenomenal, every course was divine. CANAPÉS — RAW ORKNEY SCALLOP lobster bisque, green apple, shiso dressing — POACHED CORNISH COD smoked roe, dulse, samphire — GLAZED CHICKEN BALLOTINE white bean, morteau sausage, tarragon, creme fraiche — AYNHOE PARK VENISON delica pumpkin, confit parsley root, pumpkin seed emulsion — CORNISH TURBOT green olive, braised celery, fennel cream, crispy squid — CHEESE TROLLEY (5) — TOASTED PISTACHIO MOUSSE sour cherry compote, vanilla, milk chocolate ganache

Such a shame we are nearing the end for Marcus at The Berkeley. It was a super experience and lived up to expectations.. Seven course menu with all the courses fine by both of us even though we are a bit fussy. And beautifully presented, creative combinations. From the canapés to the petit fours everything was great. The ambience was relaxing and not over stuffy. Service was really good, and I particularly appreciated Luca the excellent sommelier and his selection of bottles of white and red and glasses of dessert wines to complement the dishes very well, without being silly money. A lovely experience all round

We chose Marcus as we 've been watching him on MasterChef for many years. The restaurant did not disappoint fantastic attention and service from the many staff, beautifully presented food with exceptional flavor. The restaurant is buzzing and casual, in comparison with other restaurants of this calibre. We enjoyed the 5 course menu with the additional cheese course along with the 'introduction ' wine pairing which was a half glass per course. It was the perfect amount. Every course was again our favorite so impossible to choose what we loved most. We would happily return exceptional meal start to finish. And the restaurant is situated in The Berkley hotel amazing hotel.

This is an update to my various earlier reviews... Sadly, Marcus is closing but I had the opportunity to go for lunch one last time, on a visit to London. In terms of food alone, Marcus remains one of the standout locations in London. Superb food from trusted farms and suppliers. Excellent execution and presentation. As always, the friendly front of house team work the charm offensive and keep the customers happy. I went for the three course lunch menu with sommelier selection wines. The setting was lovely, except there was a slight unpleasant aroma coming from the air conditioning unit, but the staff rectified this as soon as they were told.My wife had the 7 course tasting menu. Every dish was beautifully presented and lovely.I unfortunately became ill, absolutely nothing to do with the food. But can I say the staff were exceptional in making sure I was OK, had enough water and any other way they could make me comfortable during the meal.
