"My wife and I visited tonight and had a dreadful experience. We were seated at a small table for two with restricted space. We had been seated at the same table last week and I was discomforted while dining, as I am disabled, so my wife asked to be moved to another table today. This was accommodated, then a female server approached our table and said in an abrupt manner and loud voice that we had taken her last table for 4. We didn’t take any table, we were seated by her colleague. My wife pointed out that I am disabled and needed some extra space, when the waitress said that the table was good enough for us last week and my wife was just using my disability as an excuse to get a different table. Customer-centric? No!, Disabled-centric? No! Her response was both crass and insensitive. I think that every diner stopped eating to watch and listen to her loud comments. My wife and I were left extremely embarrassed and distressed, and simply left the restaurant. If this behaviour is representative of the restaurant or staff, then, no thank you, we won’t return."

If you’re hungry, don’t choose this restaurant. Portions are very disappointing. Not good value for money.

We passing by and had a quick late lunch with my partner. We ordered a curry and naan and that was enough for two of us to share as a light meal.

Mother India's Cafe right opposite to Kelvingrove was so tasteful. They make the Indian kitchen proud with its perfect small dishes. The atmosphere is also fantastic. A lovely place for lunch.

The best curry I have ever had. Great food, service and atmosphere. 10/10. The ginger lamb was out of this world and the chili chicken sublime. Every thing was perfectly cooked and the man bread was to die for. Amazing experience!

Having visited mother India restaurant many times I finally got around to trying out the cafe. Kicking myself that I hadn’t tried it out sooner. All the great flavours from the restaurant but in smaller tapas style portions. Absolute genius as you can share lots of different dishes if eating with friends. We did, and every dish was superb. Service was great too.

My husband loves Indian food, so we ate here our first night. For me, Indian food is just OK, but this place was so good that we made reservations for the Edinburgh location (which was good but not as good as the Glasgow one). The butter chicken is outstanding!! They also have the best naan I have ever had. Everything we ate was wonderful. It was a very small, tight restaurant that does not take reservations, so make sure you plan your time. A wait is definitely worth it though!

I don't normally review restaurants but I am making a exception for this one. We where in Glasgow for our daughters graduation and after checking on line we found the mother India cafe. We got there quite late and the staff where very pleasant and accommodating. We had the chicken packoras to start and keema rice, butter chicken, chicken dansak (specially made for me as it was not on the menu, thanks chef). Now I know some people had said that the portion sizes are smaller but we were stuffed after the meal. The meal was good value for money, £55 for two and that included a £26 bottle of wine. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. I thought I would point out that the mother India cafe...
