"Norries never disappoints. I dined in this time and found the setup to be a typical chippy cafe, but very clean and well-organized. The staff were friendly and clearly knew their regular customers well. I highly recommend Norries' food. It was marvelous! The average price per person ranges from £10 to £20. The food and service both deserve a perfect rating of 5, while the atmosphere gets a 4. I highly recommend trying their Fish and Chips."

I was attracted by the Gordon Ramsay sign. The fish was good, but I prefer it more crispy. The portions were large and the fries were excellent.

The best fish and chips in Oban, Scotland! The fish (I chose cod) was very fresh with a crispy batter, and the chips were thick-cut, not the terrible thin French-style fries. I would rate it 10/10. View menu

The price for fish and chips and a bottle of water is £20. There is an additional charge for a seat if you prefer. The extra cost is reasonable and not too expensive for an average fish and chips meal.

The fish and chips were delicious, the potatoes were perhaps a little strong with an earthy flavour. The only thing that made the food a little uncomfortable was that they keep the street door open all the time and eating in November with 5 degrees is not the most pleasant, otherwise everything was fine Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch

the fish and chips tasted good. that's why I gave him staring. but the rest of my experience was not good. first they calculate extra for tartar sauce and ketchup, which should only come with fish and chips. second they calculate 1 pfund per person to sit in the load and eat. what a restaurant is that? third, and that is the worst that all our fish had bones and scaling. at least 3. mine had 10. I will not go back there.

"Tl:DR Believe the hype. Worth travelling for. Excellent food and service in modern decor restaurant with cozy atmosphere. Great wine selection with decent recommendations for pairing. Be sure to book in advance. We came to Oban as a detour on our way back from holiday near Loch Tarbert, following a recommendation. My wife has a thing for seafood and planned it as a well deserved mini-treat for herself. Having been somewhat underwhelmed by the local sights on the particularly grey, miserable, rainy day we 'd arrived, our hopes weren 't particularly high in all honesty. We weren 't disappointed. EE-USK is the phonetic pronunciation of the Gaelic for Fish according to the website. It 's apt and the menu reflects accordingly. Reasonably priced particularly in the current climate. If you don 't like seafood or don 't eat fish, go to their sister restaurant Piazza next door. Although it seemed a bit pricey in comparison to other menu items, as this was a special treat, we went all out and ordered the Grand Platter for two , with a portion of chips naively added on (on the off chance our 9 yr old son was in a fussy mood . Now as I 've mentioned my wife is partial to sea food, and as a result we 've eaten alot of seafood platters, in various places around the world over the past 16ish years. This was up there with the best of them. A superb balance of flavours from the sea, with decent amount of different components (cooked uncooked and no obvious filler. I got about 1/2 way through before starting to notice what can only describe as akin to a religious experience, with emergence of a zen like calm and focus as I found myself savouring the various subtle nuances of different textures and flavours. It was also much bigger than anticipated. I had barely eaten anything all day and am known to have a bottomless pit for a stomach. Reader, I 'm ashamed to admit that we failed to finish it completely, which is unprecedented Believe the hype. It 's worth making the trip for. I strongly suspect we 'll be making a regular annual/biannual pilgrimage from London (at least until we can conquer the platter..."
