"Norma occupies the site of Chez Gerard, which was a long-standing place to get onglet and chips. Its collapse was regrettable, and the replacement by Brasserie Blanc a pale and unsatisfactory affair. Passing by the other day, however, they were photographing fish in the window and the menu looked interesting, so I booked lunch and got a very pleasant surprise, because the food and reception were all outstanding. This is a most welcome addition to the Charlotte Street eating environment. We are telling all our friends."

So many great reviews when first opened and yet less than 4 months later a total disappointment. Slow disinterested service (even from the sommelier), tepid food, and truly tiny portions.

I saw Norma mentioned on tv and my husband and I thought we would give it a try. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We were made to feel very welcome and the food and service was excellent. We would definitely return for another visit in the future.

We celebrated a family birthday on a Saturday lunchtime and had a superb meal. The service was extremely good and all the courses came quickly. The whole experience could not be faulted. We shall certainly return and recommend this lovely restaurant to friends.

Sadly, but understandably, empty. We were greeted warmly and it seemed appreciated that we were there. Nice room(s), interesting menu, good service, well-executed food, good wine list. If there is a gripe, the menu was a little pricey. Definitely worth a visit for business, friends or romance. View menu

The decor is impressive, and the food is incredibly delicious and well-presented. However, the service leaves much to be desired. This might be indicative of current trends? The greeting we received was unfriendly; after offering at least two warnings, we were informed that my guest would need to be separated from me for 20 minutes (on another floor).

The decor is striking, and the food is incredibly delicious and beautifully presented. However, the service leaves much to be desired. This may be a reflection of the times we’re in. We received an unfriendly welcome, despite having reminded them twice to confirm our reservation. My guest was seated separately on a different floor for 20 minutes, which was quite disappointing.

First time to Norma and we were really impressed. We had a leisurely family lunch which we really enjoyed. We had small plates to start with the octopus and arancini real favourites. Then we had a pasta course with the Norma and crab bucatini- both delicious. Then we had bream and aubergine large plates with a tiramisu to finish! It was all so tasty the wines were nice and the service was very friendly. What a treat! View menu

We enjoyed a lunch for two, opting for the set menu. We started with focaccia topped with fig, olive, and pumpkin, followed by a cheese and pepper pasta. For the main course, I had sea bass while my wife chose the parmigiana. For dessert, we had granita and tiramisu. The atmosphere was pleasant, albeit a bit quiet, and the service was attentive. The room was beautifully decorated. The meal was enjoyable, but at around £105 without alcohol or coffee, it may be a while before we return.

We enjoyed a lunch for two from the set menu. We started with focaccia topped with figs, olives, and pumpkin, followed by a pasta dish with cheese and pepper. I had the sea bass, while my wife chose the parmagiana. For dessert, we had granita and tiramisu. The ambiance was pleasant, though maybe a bit too quiet, and the service was attentive. The decor of the room was lovely. While the meal was enjoyable, the total cost of around £105—without any alcohol or coffee—means it might be a while before we come back.
