"We went here one Tuesday during the Dine Out To Help out offer. The place was absolutely rammed with people queuing outside drinking wine while waiting for tables. There was also a constant stream of people collecting takeaways. With hindsight I wish we had gone on the Thursday or Friday when not so busy. Table was booked for 7 and our order was taken very quickly. Unfortunately it was about 7.45 when our starters arrived, after I asked one of the staff what had happened to our order. Food was okay. Standard Italian fare. The staff however were all really helpful and attentive, checking if we needed more drinks etc. I actually felt sorry for the staff as they were literally run off their feet due to the enormous amount of food they had to cook and serve packed restaurant and dear knows how many takeaway meals. Okay overall for cheap and cheerful Italian food, but I probably would not rush back."

I wouldnt recomend this place. Pizza was bland, tatseless. And you have to play full .price eventhough ordered and picked up during happy hour. I am not going back, disappointing View menu

Staff not as friendly, didn't have the right banter or interaction with customers that is needed to guarantee a return. Food .. minestrone soup very thick consistency, lasagne lacked Bolognese.

Super little restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. Great selection of starters, mains and specials. Would strongly recommend the beef loaded skins and the chicken stroganoff. Pizzas also never disappoint! Generous portions at a great value price. The Sunday lunches are also hard to beat. One of the best in the area. View menu

I have never had a bad experience here, the food is always excellent and the portions are generous. Bianca Arjan, the owner and chef, served us this evening and made us feel welcome from start to finish. It's surprising to see a great restaurant in Ryton not getting support from locals, even in these times. We travel over 35 miles to come here, so I would say support it or risk losing it. Thank you for a wonderful evening and for making those delicious fish cakes. We will be back soon.

"The place seems unprofessionally run. The staff all look like they could do with a bath. No overalls are worn and their clothes are all of the type that many would wear to lounge around the house in . Several have longer hair and beards but don’t wear any kitchen p.p.e. The decor is shabby and I wondered what kind of hygiene rating they would have. Although not busy, the staff seemed to be disorganised, falling over eachother and lacking in training. They seemed to handle the food in an inexperienced, clumsy fashion. The only tool I saw being used was a pizza peel for taking the pizza in and out of the oven. On all other occasions the food was handled. I didn’t notice any hand washing or alcohol gel in evidence. The menu is quite limited and uninspiring. 2 of the 6 pizza choices include chicken which Italians would argue is definite no no! All pizzas are reheated to order which eliminates the possibility of customisation. I don’t believe the restaurant would stand out in many European countries, as pizza in general is of a much higher standard than that in the UK. In spite of the above, The basic pizza is excellent in taste (even though it is all re-heated). And for this reason it is worth a visit. Compared to other uk pizza restaurants which are typically serving absolute garbage, the food is way out in front. If you can tolerate the negatives I’m sure you won’t be disappointed with the pizza. However with a bit of effort, this place could be transformed into something truly amazing."
