"The young man who seated me was very helpful, going so far as to find out if the sudden (to me) news of the train strike would impact me today. The food was not exciting and seemed expensive. I chose the English menu as it was too hot to think in Italian but then was told to open the Italian menu for the prices. That was odd so I overspent in the confusion. I had heard that Modena food would be spectacular but I guess I didn’t order correctly. The carciofi and crostino were good and the restaurant was open when most others were closing at 2 so that is a plus when it’s 90 degrees and you need food and water. The bathroom seemed clean but it was really dark inside so I’m not sure. There must be a story to all of the realia inside but I forgot to ask. A pleasant experience but as I said, I guess I didn’t order anything special."

Wow, what an evening. Friendly and attentive service, great food, great wine and a bill that was more than reasonable. The restaurant is small and intimate, quite dark and the tables are a little small great if you are on a date or with someone you like! The food and wine are clearly Roman (it’s the name that gives it away... , so possibly not what you might be looking for in Modena, but was all the better for it, it was simply a lovely evening. The owner is fun too. I really, really recommend this place.
