"We were down in Broadstairs for the weekend and the usual restaurant we go to on a Friday evening was fully booked because it was Folk Week (Morris dancers around every corner). We had seen this restaurant from the pub across the road and always wondered what it would be like as we love Chinese food. My husband popped over and booked a table for the Friday evening. He explained that I was in a wheelchair but the lovely lady (I think her name is Grace) said that it was a small restaurant and not really wheelchair friendly but if I could get up three steps she would book the table immediately in front. That was fine for me as I can walk a little way. When we arrived she had booked the first table as you go in and helped me up the three steps and sat me down. We folded up my wheelchair and she very kindly put it in a corner out of the way. The menu in here is very extensive and as we were not sure what we were ordering we opted for a set meal. This started with a selection of things including seaweed, prawns on sezame toast, dumplings, spring rolls and ribs and it was delicious. We then had thin pancakes with cut up lamb, hoi sin sauce, cucumber and spring onions, again absolutely delicious.! The main course was egg fried rice, a chicken dish, a beef dish and sweet and sour vegetables. This was all washed down with a bottle of Chardonnay. The bill was something like £50.00 and Grace helped me back into my wheelchair. Highly recommended as the food is gorgeous but you need to book as the restaurant is small and fills up quickly. We will definitely be going back."

We regularly visit Peninsula for Dim Sum as well as formal and informal lunch and dinner. This is an excellent local Cantonese Restaurant that serves good standard food, as well as good service.

Delicious, freshly prepared good food. Singapore vermicelli is the best I have eaten. When busy the service can be a little slow so book in advance. The service is very good and very friendly too.

This is the second year in a row we have been here for New Years Eve. So glad we did. The food once again was excellent. Very relaxed atmosphere. Great personal service from the owner Grace and her lovely staff. We're fortunate enough that we only live a 5 minute walk away. We will be returning very soon. Highly recommended.

We were staying in Broadstairs for the weekend and decided to try this Chinese restaurant on the Saturday evening as was only 5 minutes from where we were staying. We were welcomed by Grace who is so lovely. The restaurant is spotless. We opted for the set meal for 2 people. The food came out and was delicious and my husband said it was the best he had tasted in a long while. Looking forward to the next time we stay in Broadstairs as will definitely be making another visit.

This was our first take away since the crisis, and my goodness it was worth the wait.As ever wonderful food. The charm of Grace in her new Covid safe environment. The spicy courgettes, chilli beef, kung-po chicken were superb. Looking at the other comments the old fashioned building could be more attractive but who cares. This beats all the dubious little cash only chinese takeaways that manage to get a full meal ready in 10 minutes, and the extra £10 or so is worth every penny. Not a grain of rice left. See you next Friday Grace!

We are regular visitors to Broadstairs, down every few weeks. We make a point of eating here if we can. (We used to live in Hong Kong, so we know our Chinese food! This is undoubtabley the best Chinese restaurant on the island. The food is outstanding, even though, like most restaurants it has been closed for easting in for the last 14 months due to the Pandemic, however they have changed to being a very successful takeaway, which we have used several times during lockdown. When you get inside, the décor is 1970's Pub Mock Tudor, with Cantonese flourishes, give it another 20 years and you'll have film crews inside. Exceptional food. well worth the visit

"Having been raised at the knees of Caribbean and African women, sometimes I’m just in need of some soul food. I’ve often gone past Mullins and seen that it is busy, and looks bright, clean, warm and friendly. And it is. The decor works really well. Low-key, warm and welcoming. Music is a soothing stream of lilting Caribbean classics. The waiting staff are lovely. So friendly. And the menu looks great. There isn’t too much of it, and it is quite hard to choose because it all sounds amazing. Price points are really good. But. The food is genuinely terrible. I went for a Creole fish stew. I don’t know how you can make a stew without flavour. When you are cooking things slowly and together, flavour infuses flavour. But not here. This was a good sized portion of piping hot well presented food. But my God it tasted awful. Basically chopped potato surrounded by small lumps of bland unidentifiable white fish, half a dozen mussels, some of which were still closed, and therefore inedible, and three flavourless prawns in shells. There was a pinch of Samphire on the top, and this was the sum total of the vegetables I could find. It came in what I can only describe as a thick red sauce. If there was tomato in it, there was no flavour to it. It was highly salty, and this was the dominant flavour throughout. The fish had no flavour of fish, and it was intensely spiced in a lip plumping way. Essentially, it was all heat and salt. With a slight tang of gents toilets. I suspect this was from the mussels. I did raise the blandness twice with the waiter, and the strange unpleasant toilet flavour. He said he would tell chef. And that was that. No feedback on the dreadful flavour other than that it was all fresh. I ate the entirety of the meal because I had travelled a long way and had not eaten. I saw it simply as fuel. It was not enjoyable. I paid and left. Mullins is so close to getting everything right, but a restaurant is its food. I’m not going back."
