"Popped in today for lunch, ordered two mains from their menu, the steak and game pie with chips and peas, and the Cajun chicken burger with onion ring and chips. I’ll start with the front of house. It needs a good clean down and a...lick of paint. They advertise for weddings and functions, but I couldn’t see anyone wanting a wedding in such a drab surrounding. The seat I had, needed restuffing, and made for an uncomfortable hour. The staff were polite, friendly and courteous, a saving grace. The food. The steak was incredible dry and tough. The edge of the pastry wasn’t filled and so was that dry, you couldn’t eat it. The gravy is flavoursome, but sparing. The chips are more like potato chunks, they are so large. And you get a lot of peas, which isn’t a bad thing. The chicken burger, was well cooked and presented, with a lot of salad on the burger and as a side. The single onion ring, came in the burger. Again the chips are chunks. All in all worth popping in for a light bite, not something special. And we’ll probably try again in season, hopefully it’s better then."

Came in late today for a last minute slice of cake before closing. Bit of a disappointment as the cake was not very fresh and we were still charged full price for it. Would he worth considering reducing your end of day stock....

Went in here as our first choice was full. But very nice filled bread roll, and the homemade chips were very good, we had a pot of tea for two not sure what brand it was but alas not a very nice one. I would...return here if in the area again.

Great little bistro/cafe on the square in Leyburn. It’s now called Kim’s Bistro. Fantastic breakfast and friendly staff. They accept dogs and they brought our puppy Cavachon some treats to keep her occupied. Food was delicious, highly recommend this place for a cooked breakfast!

Called here for lunch on our way to Aysgarth. We have eaten here before and it is usually really busy so we were shocked to find it empty. The lunch was lovely though and really reasonably priced and the member of staff worked hard and...was very efficient. Will definitely visit here again. View menu

We only wanted hot drinks on a cold bank holiday Sunday on our way to the Forbidden Corner. Having left another cafe on the opposite side of the road due to a rude waitress we were pleased to find a table in this light, airy cafe. The service was a little slow but it was a busy bank holiday. We had no complaints and other people’s food looked very appetising.

As previous review said, it's now called K Teas and is a welcome addition to the market square. After being turned away from the Post horn by a very abrupt lady we were welcomed outside here. Nice menu, something for everyone, friendly staff and whilst we only had snacks the more substantial meals looked lovely. Will definitely return. Think dad loved the big pot of tea best, being an ex farmer he can drink gallons of the stuff and went down well with his big slice of chocolate cake! View menu

Me and my partner came here for a sit in ‘meal’ everything was frozen, I got told by a very rude little lady, I’m sure she was the managers daughter, she had said the chips were homemade and when they arrived they were frozen gormet...chips. I had a wrap and my partner had a burger, I asked for no cheese in the burger and still came with cheese, after our meal I went up to pay and the horrible rude lady charged me full price for our meals and drink even though she had said to the table next to us it was the eat out to help out! Absolutely shocking, the lady knew me and makes it clear that she does not like myself but that is not how a business runs u are there to work not be bitchy to PAYING...

"We had booked with booking.com . On arrival we were told that we didn't get breakfast included and that it would be £15 a head. We accepted this although thought was pretty steep for breakfast in a pub.The first morning we were given a menu clearly stating that breakfasts were included with all accommodation. I ordered poached eggs with smoked salmon and the other two ordered a full English breakfast which included homemade black pudding. The breakfasts arrived ,one of my poached eggs was runny, the other hard. The English breakfasts had no black pudding on the plates and when queried we were told that the deliveries hadn't arrived. Doesn't homemade imply made on or near the premises and as the owner states he is a butcher by trade I would expect he had made the black pudding. No alternatives were offered and presentation was distinctly lacking , with the baked beans poured over the other items. The next day I risked the full breakfast with black pudding which was lovely. But again the others had badly cooked poached eggs. We were offered no fruit juice, cereal or even toast and marmalade. On leaving we discovered the pub was unmanned , despite poor mobile signal. The owner turned up after 15 minutes. The bill was handed over, charging us for seven breakfasts when we had six, it was adjusted after he asked if one of us had had two breakfast one day? He served and cooked them so should know the answer to that. We were also then overcharged for nine coffee when three coffees and two teas had been ordered. Having had a family B and small hotel in York I advised him that standards were not what I was used to. I spoke to someone who had also visited recently and she stated a member of staff had charged them £15 per head for their similar breakfast where we were charged the menu price. Exceptionally poor menu, inaccurate advise saying breakfast included then charging us and probably the worst breakfast I have eaten in similar accommodation."
