"The Alt Lich was a pleasant little restaurant about 1 block from the main pedestrian street. With just nine tables in the main dining room, it was tastefully decorated, rather in a traditional style of a small German restaurant. We had called ahead for a reservation and were asked if we could move our reservation either an hour earlier or later because a large group was expected. This turned out to be a wise decision because the server was able to give both our party and the large party full attention. We had also indicated that we were celebrating a wedding aniversary and if we could have a table on the side and have it decorated. They complied and we found the table to be very nicely set up when we arrived. The service was excellent with the server waiting until we had comfortably finished a course before the next was served. Each dish was served at the appropriate temperature. The food was outstanding. The menu was all ala carte but the prices were very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food. Two different soups were ordered, one a "baerlauch" (wild garlic/ramsoms) soup and the other beef broth soup with noodles. Both were outstanding. Baerlauch was in season and was new to me. It was essentially a light cream soup with pureed baerlauch, giving it a very subtle and unique taste, and containing two raviolis filled with baerlauch. The beef soup was clearly freshly prepared natural broth and was also outstanding. Three of the party ordered the Argentinian rumpsteak with roasted vegetables. The steak was about 4 cm thick and was perfectly cooked, having ordered it rare or "English" style. The roasted vegetables included a mixture of zucchini, green beans, red pepper with olive oil and baerlauch, perfectly cooked and mildly seasoned. The fourth person had a pork steak with roasted potatoes. The pork was also perfectly cooked and very juicy. A simple dessert of walnut ice cream was ordered as we all were comfortably full with the two courses. Of course, as we were in Lich, we had the local Licher beer which is always good. Overall, we had an extremely pleasant evening. I enthusiatically recommend trying this restaurant. I have eaten in many local restaurants throughout Germany and consider this one of my more memorable meals."

"General Alte Klostermühle on the grounds of the monastery ruin Arnsburg, right on the way from the highway to the town of Lich. The old walls, the large trees, the whole terrain radiates a certain amount of radiance and tranquility. A place where you want to stay. And an appropriate gastronomic offer invites you. The restaurant has been thoroughly redesigned for a short time and is under new leadership. And that's exactly what I have, the best quality of ingredients, but unfortunately still quite tasteless. This can be natural cuisine, unfortunately it is also quite boring. Such a bit more spices on the meat egg, a crimp in the carrots and a crumb salt in the potatoes would certainly not have spoiled anything. My wife had Wiener Schnitzel from veal with roast potatoes and salad. Well, the carving had a little butter taste and came out of the pan and not from the unsatisfactory frit. Bratkartoffel have even more own taste thanks to fat. And enough salt gives the whole a real taste. The atmosphere Unfortunately the outdoor area was completely boring. Wooden tables with cast iron base are not bad, but the plastic baskets fit into this monastery ambience as the famous fist. Here, the approach is unfortunately only slightly implemented in the mainstream. Very different the new interior. There was really a sympathetic modern ambience. Very good. Cleanliness The house is clean and well maintained. However, the toilet facilities are very limited."

"Ich war heute zu Gast im Restaurant Zum heiligen Stein, und schildere gerne meine Eindrücke. Der Kellner, der mich den ganzen Abend betreuen würde, hat mir sehr freundlich empfangen. Zum Einstand gab es einen Gruß aus der Küche, was ich nicht für selbstverständlich erachte. Meine Vorspeise ein Gazpacho war wirklich hervorragend. Das Vitello Tonato hingegen war gut, aber nichts Besonderes. Etwas dicke Scheiben von Kalb, etwas wenig Sauce. Als Zwischgang habe ich die Pasta mit Trüffel gegessen, und hier muss man eindeutig sagen: Mit Blick auf die Portionsgröße ist das für einige eine Hauptspeise, für mich allenfalls ein Zwischengang. Die Pasta hat insgesamt gut geschmeckt. Danach habe ich noch das Wiener Schnitzel mit Kartoffelsalat gegessen, was mir sehr gut geschmeckt hat. Zum Abschluss gab es eine tolle Creme Brulee und einen Espresso. (Für alle, die mich schon geistig Body Shamen: Mein BMI liegt bei 21. Fazit zum Essen: Rein subjektiv haben für mich Preis und Leistung nicht ganz gestimmt. Natürlich werden gute Zutaten verwendet, aber rechtfertigen diese den Preis, bzw. die Portionen? Für mich leider nicht ganz. Das Geschmackserlebnis war insgesamt positiv, hat mich aber nicht schwärmen lassen. Gute Küche zu etwas zu gehobenen Preisen. Fazit zum Kellner: Ein sehr netter Herr, der sehr aufmerksam war, und es geschafft hat, zu jedem Gang nach meinem Wohl zu fragen, ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Ich kann mich nur positiv äußern. Fazit zum Ambiente: Ich war aufgrund des Wetters ausschließlich auf der Terrasse, und habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt. Gesamtfazit: Wer sich die Bilder im Netz und die Speisekarte anschaut, wird relativ schnell merken, wer hier verkehrt, und wer eben nicht. Wer nicht auf den Geldbeutel achtet, und gutes Essen genießen möchte, ist hier richtig. Das Restaurant leistet gute Arbeit."
