"We recently visited the Grey Ox after reopening under new management. As regular customers of the Grey Ox for years, we were slightly disappointed in the changes that have been made. Firstly you notice as you walk in, the lovely leather chairs that were previously placed in front of the open fire have been moved to the side, one of our favourite things to do was come and have a glass of wine in front of the fire after a long dog walk on a Sunday, so I really hope they bring these back for the winter months. Secondly, they have re-painted a lot of the restaurant area which definitely gives it a brighter feel, however I think more care needed to go into new chairs as many of them are incredibly uncomfortable and falling apart and the seams. Next was the food, this was a huge disappointment for both my partner and I. We ordered a sirloin steak, myself medium rare and my partner medium. Neither came cooked correctly and the taste was quite bland. The staff were very friendly but when asked for a wine list I was told there was not one, and when asked what red wine was available I had to go to the bar myself to select as the waitress did not know what was to offer. This pub has so much potential and I hope that the feedback they receive is considered and they can turn this around into a huge success."

"I recently had a fantastic meal at this restaurant, which offers a full vegetarian set menu as well as a variety of vegetarian options on their regular menu. I was impressed by how many of the meat dishes had a vegetarian option that was equally delicious and enjoyed by both vegetarians and meat eaters. The use of flavorful and creatively cooked tofu stood out to me, as I prefer this over imitation meats. I would highly recommend this restaurant to others."

"I've been here a few times and have consistently enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere, along with the friendly and attentive staff. "Wow, we had a great experience at the Airedale Heifer in Mirfield based on a recommendation from Richard Tree on Facebook. We decided to take my father and a friend from the US to lunch at this nice pub. I called ahead to reserve a table for 2:30pm, but when we arrived, the doors opened shortly before that time. The new landlady, Ashley, was the only one working and she warmly welcomed us. She explained that she had just taken over the venue and was running the place on her own. We ordered a variety of dishes including the Mega Meat Platter, Buttermilk Chicken Burger, and a five starter dish deal. The food was all incredible, with the Fried Cauliflower Wings with Ginger and Soy Sauce standing out as a favorite. The atmosphere was great, with a fantastic bar and a welcoming vibe. We highly recommend the Airedale Heifer for its food, service, and atmosphere. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"
