We booked a table for four, the service and food were very good. I had crab for starters and Steak cooked rare for main. I drank Wainwright's beer, which was lovely but expensive at this pub.

We’ve just had an afternoon tea birthday treat from The Gray Ox and I’m really impressed. It was beautiful and great value for money. Can’t fault the customer service either at the time of ordering or collection, all really lovely people.

What can I say but absolutely superb in every way from the food to the service. Millie our waitress was absolutely brilliant, and the food was amazing,it was my third visit here and it didn't fail to impress. We had the sirloin and sides, absolutely delighted with our choices, and the peppercorn sauce was the best I've had. I would strongly recommend here

It's a great little gastro pub. You might need to book for busier times but we managed to get a seat just turning up. The food was great, we only had sandwich and chips but they were really tasty and looking at what others had brought to their tables, it all looked good. I would definitely recommend this place, parking was great even for larger cars/pick-up.

Our second visit here and we absolutely loved it,the young lady who waited on us was brilliant and the food was amazing, starter's we had the scallops and chorizo and duck leg salad. The scallops were cooked perfectly and my salad was beautiful. We picked fish and chips for our mains and what a choice we made. I can honestly say they were the best I've ever had and I was in the fish and chip shop industry for 10 years, the batter was so crisp and the fish was done to perfection, the chips were proper homemade one's not greasy at all and the mushy peas with a hint of mint were beautiful. This was a birthday lunch treat for myself, my partner had got a deal via Groupon, she had been here years ago and had a great evening here. On this occasion we were welcomed by the owner, he was warm, engaging, knowledgeable about all menus, both food drink. We had for starters: Seared king scallops, crispy chorizo, celeriac truffle puree, Confit duck leg, pomegranate, mint, coriander, crispy shallots, soy, plum chilli dressing, both were fabulous, we shared. We came here for an evening meal and having not been for sometime we realised it was pre covid since we last came so decided it was time to come back we were so glad we did. The surrounding are as always warm welcoming, our table was ready for us and although we were quite early we had a drink first we’re given some menus and told we could take our seats at our leisure by the wonderful waitress whose name I sadly did not get but was friendly gave great natural service.
