"Dreadful bar meal, worst we've had for years. 4 adults and 4 children, all the chips were under cooked, asked for more chips and had the same inedible chips again. Lasagne had an overwhelming taste of vinegar, gammon and burger were ok. We asked for a discount as half the food was inedible, the response was something we've never had in a pub/restaurant before. Reply was there is no manger her so they can't offer any discount. The covering staff member dealt with the whole situation dreadfully and essentially disputed our claim that all our meals were not cooked properly. Even our 4 kids could not eat the chips, this has never happened before. The chef did not come to the table and we were not offered an apology. A very badly run pub with poor standards and lack of staff leadership."

The atmosphere is always friendly, and I consistently feel welcomed here. For my meal type, I dined in for lunch, and the price ranged from £10 to £20 per person. I would rate the food a 5, the service a 5, and the atmosphere a 5 as well.

We enjoyed a wonderful Sunday carvery at the Rhydypennau Inn. The food was beautifully prepared, served hot, and there was a great variety with generous portions. The crumble for dessert was perfect—not too hot to eat! The staff made both us and our two dogs feel very welcome. I would definitely recommend this place. Food: 4/5, Service: 4/5, Atmosphere: 4/5. I stopped by for lunch and was pleased with the variety on the menu. We opted for the special: beef stew and dumplings, which were absolutely delicious. To top it off, they had Timothy Taylor's Landlord beer, which was a nice treat. The barmaid, who was working alone, provided excellent service, especially considering she had to deal with some difficult customers who came in. Overall, it was a great dining experience. Recently visited this place for a meal I have been to this place a number of years ago hand haven't been back as it was very poor. I have to say it wasn't much better in fact it was very disappointing. I had a chicken curry and it was awful it arrived on a cold plate and parts of it were cold , obviously it hadn't been heated properly, I believe the curry was made and leftover chicken was add later and it tasted horrible. My wife did have a lasagna and that was ok but nothing to get excited about. Also first impression count so they say the waitress uniform didn't look particularly tidy and she was wearing white trainers which were filthy, this is hardly a good impression. I would not recomm...

"Great food and been there many times. As a party of 7, with 3 children under 6 years, thought best to book a table. Told on the phone that they don 't take bookings. Arrived early and found a large table, and just as the other 6 were arriving I was told the table was booked! If I 'd known I would have found another cafe. As it was we waited ages for a table with small children milling around, complete with dirty looks from staff. Disappointing. Some suggestions on how you could have dealt with the situation better: 1. Let us stay on the table until another table was ready, as the party for the reserved table did not turn up for over half an hour. 2. Apologise that the table was not clearly marked as reserved. There was a bottle that I noticed much later, where 'reserved ' was written on only one side, which faced the kitchen. 3. The waiter should have mentioned the reservation rather giving me menus and taking a coffee order while I waited. 4. The waiters (yes several, I must have looked like trouble) who turfed me off the table just as my family were arriving could have explained why the table was reserved when i had been unable to reserve a table because, as you said on the phone, you 'don 't take reservations '. You replied that it was reserved for a 'private party ' and when I asked how that differed from a table booking, you kept repeating the words 'private party '. I was none the wiser. 5. An apology would have gone a long way rather than treating me as a difficult customer. 6. You made me feel totally unwelcome at your restaurant. 7. Well done! Your service, or rather the lack of it, has lost a formerly loyal customer. Quite frankly I 'd rather eat at MacDonalds, at least they 're polite to their customers.
