"Rick’s has launched a new menu couple weeks ago so we were invited to have a Zomato meetup there and hear more about how the menu was put together by the executive chef Jon Wood. We were offered a gin cocktail at arrival called the Woodland Fox. It was very refreshing and looking at the drinks menu for a price of £4.50 it’s a great value! We were then seated at our table and were offered some wine. I’m more of a white wine drinker so I had a glass of that. Chef Jon then came and talked about different dishes on the menu and why are they on it. I decided to go for a duck salad with honey mustard dressing for a starter. The salad was fresh and the duck was tender. I really enjoyed...read more"

as good as last time. beautiful service, good food and not overwhelmed Christmas decoration. the atmosphere was just as good. it didn't go crazy, so it just had a rib eye, but was just enough and good experience again.

We all met for dinner at Ricks, a boutique hotel with a buzzing restaurant in the centre of Edinburgh. Ricks is part of the Montpelier Group, which is a group of restaurants, nightclubs and hotels in Edinburgh, all of which have the same chic, quirky and stylish feel.

Rick's has not only a fabulous location but also a very reasonably priced dinner menu that includes 2 dishes for a tenner. It's an absolute bargain! Great quality of dishes (I had the warm cheese salad and the thai green curry), good portions (bear in mind I am a light eater, so don't expect them to be massive, that's just not my kind of thing), very well presented and friendly staff. If you are in the area, give it a try.

Rick's is one of my go to favourites in Edinburgh. The atmosphere is chic yet comfortable. The food is always top notch and the Service tremendous! You absolutely cannot beat their lunch deal of 2 people for £10 or the dinner offer of 2 courses per person fore £10. The menu just changed a few weeks ago. It's very good but I really miss the 2 courses I always ordered from the old menu. Rick's will always be one of my favourites.

After we had spent the rainy seasons, we were going to stumble on ricks hotel after we just went into us, although we were dressed under, but that was not important, the staff and service was fantastic, so we felt so welcome, the drinks, cocktails, music, vibe was great. I had the whispers and uuh, they were fabulous! felt so welcome and also warmed. so a beautiful afternoon on Sunday for a beautiful cocktail and nibben before they go to a show etc.

Last time I was at rick’s, it was part of the Zomato blogger meeting. the chef john, came out and spoke through the menu before we ordered. it was great to see the passion that these young have eaten for her, and it really shows in the dressed. the salmon starter, the chicken and the oh-so-rich chocolate and the caramel cake were all mouthwatering delicious. combine this with a really good cocktail menu and they have a solid option to eat in the new city!

I was invited to Rick’s for a Zomato meet up. This was the first time I got to attend one of these events and I thoroughly enjoyed getting to meet other bloggers who were just as excited about food as I am. Rick’s recently launched a new menu and we were invited to see it showcased. We were greeted by the manager Andy who told us a little bit about Rick’s and what they offer (as it is not just a restaurant and bar but a boutique hotel). We were given a lovely cocktail to start off the evening . This was quite a delight as it included egg white to make it fluffy and light.

this is a great place to have a delicious warm meal in a quiet atmosphere. I had the orkeny burger with extra cheese and it was absolutely delicious, one of the best burgers I ever had. I also had the el matador cocktail, which was perfectly balanced. for dessert I had the salted caramel chocolate tart, which was so decadent and rich, a great tasty. the music was not too loud so I could enjoy my book at the same time. the personal was also very friendly and seemed to have a good rapport with each other, which is important. thanks rick’s hotel for a good meal, the value for money :

"new kapitel has caught my attention after I was on top ten on trip advisor only months after the opening in the oktober last year. that and the fact that it is open for my early january birthday, made it the perfect place to celebrate to become a little older. I was with the man and his family. the man is quite used to my taste and good to the kind of kitchen that would appeal to me for a special occasion; his family not so much and I was filled with shame as his mother scornful went through the menu trying to find something she would enjoy. I've eaten with the family of the man, and I know they enjoy eating, so I think it's a failure of the menu that it is not accessible. the benming always blooming and garnish can appeal to some, but for others it is overcomplicated and it is necessary to find a balance between the two. we start with the starters and I go for venison sour wort pithvier. the venison was underheated and incredibly dry, to the happiness the sourded a little moisturizing and so saved the whole dish, but the aromen were quite not clear, except the garnitur of plastered mushrooms I thoroughly enjoyed. for the largest part we chose a fish dish for our main,- sea trout, smoked muddles, petersilien and coast herbs. where the starter fell, the main recording is getting back. the dish is rich and creamy, and each element adds the complexity of the taste as a whole, without disturbing. the concept is now an old one, and it would be deceptive if it had not worked, as it would essentially pay with this place. I enjoyed my meal in new chapter, although I do not agree with it is stellar status under the hierarchy of edinburgh eateries. it is top ten position is just a flash in the pan of hot popularity, and in time it will be plated in the upper half of the middle stage where it belongs. and that is where it belongs, the dishes can be plated with a michelin star in understood, and the venue and the supporting media has the clean lines and empty slate look of fine but eat the team has a long gone to go if that is their real aim. at the end, although it was a beautiful meal, and cheap (at the moment I would not be surprised to see their prices slowly rise) and the man’s mother found something they enjoyed and that is the most important."
