"Because my best man likes to eat asparagus, I promised him to go to Volkach during the asparagus season because the Franconian asparagus is wonderfully aromatic. Now I was in duty to put this in time, because it is unfortunately not the whole year over season. That was the saving idea. On a home trip from the Swabian we were able to make a stop in Volkach, which is about 25 km east of Würzburg an der Mainschleife. I thought it was done. When we reached Volkach after a few kilometers from the highway on land roads, we parked near the lower old town and drove the short way to the market with the town hall. Unfortunately, there is currently a large construction site of the market is likely to be redesigned, so we had no desire to settle at Behringer. But Behringers have only 30 meters away, fortunately, the heart we have through a round arc on the other side of the road. In the afternoon we were lucky to get a nice place under a parasol outside the back glass building, because in this there was a greenhouse climate in summer temperatures. They sit here wonderfully between planted dowels and small trees in a backyard in the middle of the old town houses. The ambience is very pleasant, almost original. The menu mainly with Franconian delicacies was already on the table and soon one of the waiters appeared in the Dirndl and asked for our wishes. My best one took part (500g) asparagus with potatoes and butter. I would have liked to drink, but that was unfortunately already from hm... somehow followed us lately... and so I decided to go for a sully from the housemetzger with pumpkin seed oil sharks marinade and roast potatoes. Unfortunately, there was no pod of Frankenwein, but a refreshing cyclist. The older operation seemed somewhat overwhelmed, forget the beverage bowl placed on the table when it served on the neighboring table, because the younger waitress was all the more cautious and took her away. On the table stood a glass with not too sharp Wasabi peas for the guests, of whom we served as cyclists. There was also a small greeting from the kitchen. Then our foods finally came in a short row, which really tasted excellent. My best ace enjoys his part of the asparagus and wounded me the spicy blows as well as the crispy browned roast potatoes. Since we hadn't taken any more since breakfast and it was late afternoon, a dessert was also suitable. Ice cream and fresh strawberries with cream. The toe fell slightly higher than the usual way for comparable services in Mainfranken. Almost 22 € for asparagus with carving is already very proud. Then the **** with roast potatoes took almost modest with 8.90. On the way to the toilet I discovered that Franconian delicacies such as fruit and nut fires are also offered for sale outside the house. I'd like to have taken a bottle of nusseler, but that was... how can it be different... again... The toilet had a somewhat absorbed impression in the afternoon, but was modern and well maintained. Conclusion: A beer garden where you eat very tasty and keep it well in winter thanks to the advertised 22 degree warranty."

"Although I regularly travel to Mainfranken, the Hinterhöfle is one of my new discoveries this year. It works in its overall ambience very large-scale and well designed and even better marketed, including own home magazine! The restaurant is located in the very picturesque city centre and is currently relatively poorly accessible due to some roadblocks, especially on weekends. Who can somehow come to foot or by bike (naja, also because of the excellent wine... or park his car further away. In any case, last weekend we had a good time walking through the neighborhood until a parking space suddenly occurred. Already at the first approach I felt a surprising Wowww feeling. The headstone pavement of the street continues nonstop to the terrace right into the local. Actually, you don't know exactly where the outside and where the inside starts. Everything is surrounded by vines and greenery, the Gastgarten is very Italian or Spanish and the restaurant itself could come from the good old Roman period. All very original, but greatly styled. And in between a few brick walls and a plundering well and a lot of eye-catchers. This is where the interior architect has done a whole thing. During my visit to the last WE, the restaurant was magnificent in the evening. A second table was released only by chance. We had to navigate very hard through the narrow rows – and to say it immediately: for old people, walking or visually impaired, this location is more a torment. High noise level, very unsafe terrain, too many stimuli. If you don't care, you can easily stumble on the slippery headstone paver. The adrette operation in the jewellery dirndl was also somewhat disorientated, but it wore with humor and corresponding standing. Even though she was on foot at the beginning, she smiling towards the end and persistently gassing the final espresso. Anyway, we had enough time to enjoy the unique ambience. Here you cross regional-seasonal cuisine with a large city flair and (unfortunately not too large portions). My antipasti plate, which was specially known as GROSS and found among the main dishes, was rather something for the hollow tooth. For this beautifully through and relatively oily and varied (Aubergine, various paprika, onions, zucchini, olives . Although I had ordered the food WARM, it was just lukewarm. A little more heat would have spit out the flavors. The whole was served beautifully in an oval rustic bowl, with white bread and a special salt I did not use, however, because the vegetables were well seasoned. But I would have expected more mass for 12.95. More convinced this already the red lace (9.50 oz., which had been cooked in Burgundy, which gave the cohesed onions and apple slices a wonderful color. The sausages were buttery and very tasty. I like to take this variant again. I was full and gone from the heirs in Wasabi, who stood on every table as an amuse gueule in large one-piece glasses. Magnificent and spicy and appetizing and unfortunately also addictive. It's nice that most wines are also served in 0.1 liter bins. You can try more. My Pinot from the region (2,50 was wonderfully splashy and fresh and slightly pearling. But no one could tell me why the small amount was served in an impressive giant glass where the contents of a whole bottle had been matched. Not even the boss there who made the round at the end. Apparently the wine glasses are chosen as desired? You have to look for the way to the toilet, he's a little worn out. There are plenty of toilet articles for use and when going out to the restaurant you can also get a few snacks or wines on the course. All in all, I was very excited about the location when the noise level just shredded me a little and my portion did not really fill me. For this, the Wasabi heirs on the table are free. Around the basement floor you can cuckoo football in a great environment (which hardly knows one of the guests... The audience is colorfully mixed, many tourists, many groups of friends, but also couples and families. Singles, however, none."
