"Quando mia moglie a sorpresa mi ha detto: prenotiamo una notte alla locanda Cipriani, quella che vediamo sempre a Torcello? Beh.. c'è stato poco da pensarci su! E non potevamo fare scelta migliore La stanza con terrazzo che affaccia sul giardino interno affaccia anche... Su una nuova dimensione dove il tempo sì ferma, ti prende sotto braccio e ti dice: dai oggi sei tu il protagonista. Il giardino o dovrei dire i giardini tutti molto curati, con fiori che popolano ogni lato . I profumi e le coreografie multicolori amplificano quel senso di pace, tanto che sembra davvero di essere in un altro tempo Abbiamo anche pranzato e cenato con somma soddisfazione. "We called last minute to see if we can get a reservation. They were fully booked but said if we hurry now then they could fit us in. Super accommodating in trying to get us a table. When we arrived, everyone from the manager to all the staff were so incredibly nice. They told us which fish were caught that day and what their own favorites were on the menu. We ordered the spaghetti with clams, king prawns, and the baked seabass. Everything was so incredibly amazing, out of this world. Spaghetti with clams were cooked perfectly and so fresh. The shrimp was perfect and de-shelled for us. And the seabass came whole, and they cleaned it right in front of us. Everything was so delicious and everyone was so incredibly nice and helpful. Definitely one of the best meals we had on our whole Italian vacation."

"The pizza was delicious especially the vegana and our server was attentive. We didn’t enjoy the extra charge for sharing a pizza (two smaller women who would otherwise be throwing food away) or the smoking allowed on the patio while we were eating. They charge $2 E per person cover. It was also a bit buggy. Overall, a nice experience, but not a “Wow.”"

"On our first night we had a walk along a canal near our hotel and chose Osteria Bea Vita because it looked pretty and quaint. While we were waiting for the kitchen to open we had some cicchetti which was fantastic fried olives and meat in breadcrumb balls and mozzarella and ham fried squares. For my main I had the Panciotti ripieni con capesante e gamberoni con velluta di zucchine pasta filled with scallops and prawns in a creamy zucchini cream. Fantastic. My husband had the tagliolini with codfish cream and loved it. The atmosphere was great and the staff were lovely. Perfect."

"Excellent food and service under a canvas awning on a warm sunny day in May (after a few days of broken weather) on an island in the Venice lagoon. What's not to like? The mature woman and man who served us could not have been nicer. Each course was a treat. Cost per person for lunch, including a bottle of wine between two, came to about 65 euros per head (Venice is not cheap). Getting to Torcello takes time. Being Sunday, good weather and Italy's Mothers' Day no doubt added to the throng going out to the islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello (the first two are on the way) and the Vaporetto boats were very busy. Making the necessary change of Vaporetto at Burano on the way back, we had to queue in the sun for nearly half an hour because the first boat back to Venice could not take everyone. So allow a lot of time each way, and add ninety minutes at least if you wish to walk around part of Murano or Burano island en route. Also leave up to an hour if possible to visit the extraordinary, ancient basilica on the island, a short walk beyond this restaurant, with its large mosaic of the Virgin and Child and its fresco of the Day of Judgment which helps to keep one's good fortune at being able to dine in a place like this in perspective."
