"Had a truly amazing meal here last week with my partner. Our server was so attentive, friendly, polite, bubbly and knowledgeable and created an excellent atmosphere. The menu itself provided some interesting choices, with meat, fish and vegetarian options (priced at for courses or for courses). In addition to the actual meal we were presented with complimentary hors d’oeuvres (a delicious, smooth mushroom and truffle tartlet and a thin sourdough – almost like a brandy snap with a carrot puree) – both were sublime. If that was not enough this was followed by gorgeous, fresh bread and butter and a cup of creamy, delicious soup. Then, on to the meal to start my partner had the rabbit and Asturian black pudding terrine which was served with a selection of pickled vegetable and prune sauce, whilst I had the Scallops with cana de lomo, cooked to perfection, melt in the mouth. For our mains we both had the duck, which was marinated in soy and honey and executed perfectly and was served with lattice type crisps, red and yellow peppers and pickled walnuts. For desert we shared a crumble and a cheese board. My compliments go out to the chef – a perfect meal which we thoroughly enjoyed."

Cosy restaurant with nice ambiance. The food is delicious and the staff are friendly and helpful. They can recommend a good wine to accompany any dish on the menu.

Wonderful atmosphere, food and service in a very attractively fitted out and decorated cottage. Quiet atmosphere making talking unobtrusive to others and easy to hear. Recommend a visit. I drove 2 hours to get there tomeet a friend. Very worthwhile.

What an amazing privilege to be invited to celebrate Trafalgar day at Ronnie’s restaurant. We were in a private function room which was lovely. Service and food quality was excellent. Really want to return sometime soon to enjoy a meal in the restaurant.

small tastes for lunch. it suffices more than a light lunch. all foods are freshly cooked so it is not brushed, but is well worth waiting. quiet, relaxed feeling with a very attentive, friendly and responsive waiter. will return for dinner; is looking forward to the 6 courses tasting menu with 'flight weine '.

a willy eccentric but excellent location no champagne, but a good choice if English champagne. no extra veg with main courses. but the erything we had was excellent. we even got a warm welcome after we arrived too early, unannounced, and almost their dogs have left out! we will definitely return when we are in the opposite.

on Saturday we celebrated the birthday of my wife in ronnies of thornbury with a total of 21 families and friends. from the arrival to the departure our expectations were exceeded. the cocktails were delicious and the food was not only delicious, but the presentation was an artwork on each teller. richard and his team took part in the service to ensure that no one was unattended even though we moved. this was a beautiful, relaxed and pleasant day that we will remember for a long time. thanks, ronnie, richard and the team.

my wife and I were ready to go to this restaurant for years, so when we finally had a chance at the weekend, we went. we have built the experience in our head for years and better than we imagined was just incredible. it's the best food we've ever eaten at a distance. the aromen were unbelievable and the tempo that the meal is served means that even the fastest possible people like us are forced to slow down and enjoy the meal. yes, it is more expensive than its average meal. but with excellent service, exquisite food and beautiful wine pairing, it is worth every penny. in a world full of promising and reaching, this is a restaurant that does the opposite by eating on beautiful and wonderful...

"I was excited to revisit the New Inn after many years, as it used to be a favorite spot of mine. My group of 8 had pre-ordered at the request of the New Inn, but we were told 15 minutes after our booking time that our food was just being prepared. An hour later, our food still hadn't been served. After checking with the staff, the manager assured us that our order was next. Another 10 minutes passed before our food finally arrived. The gammon came with sides that we didn't like and were not mentioned on the menu. The portions were oversized, which was nice, but they were too much and off-putting. The salad trimmings were of poor quality. The fish in batter was enjoyed by those who ordered it. The main meals were okay, but I would have preferred better quality over quantity. We had to chase the staff for a glass of water, and even after being offered dessert menus, no one came to take our order. When we decided to follow up at the bar, the manager seemed more interested in finding out which staff member had failed to take our order than in solving the issue. The service was okay but could have been better, as no one checked on us after our meals were served. It seems like the staff could benefit from more positive training from a supportive mentor. When we asked for the bill, it took a while for it to be brought to us, so we ended up paying on the way out. It's a shame, as I had fond memories of the New Inn, but I am unlikely to return after this experience."
