"If you want to be transported to South India with the food and ambience of a regular south Indian eatery , don't skip visiting this unique vegetarian place in East London. Obviously it's North Indian or indo-Chinese dishes may be tinged with some south Indian flare but the south Indian dishes- dosas, vadas etc are spot on. They have not tried to dilute their spice or flavour. Also the staff have the typical south Indian cheerfulness and politeness. The music is usually illaiyaraja or AR Rahman . It's usually busy , but food arrives very quickly. This place is family friendly."

Good Indian restaurant, offering vegetarian food, it’s quite busy during the school break period! The Paneer chilly is a recommended-dish to try!

The restaurant is good, but it gets very crowded on weekends. If you visit on weekends, you may not receive proper service. The food quality is inconsistent on different days.

The food is delicious. I love the masala dosa and the fried okra. They are both cooked so well. The restaurant has a nice ambiance with good lighting and friendly staff. I have been visiting every week! View menu

I have eaten in Saravana Bhavan over years in india and abroad. This one takes the cake. The worst food. Haaaard idly....saltless....terrible and also saltless dosa. Its like they have given up on South Indian food. Even the coffee was terrible.

I am a stoic fan of this restaurant and have tried to visit whenever I get the opportunity, travelling down from Wolverhampton. This time however I must admit I was disappointed. The quality of the food has fallen significantly, the service was not as good...

Worst service possible. Only half filled restaurant, kitchen and waiting staff could handle orders. Staff forgot 3 items and then made us wait for 45min for starters. Asked to remove from bill, refused and proceeded to argue that because we ate after it arrived. Complete... View menu

The sign out front of the restaurant says “World’s No. 1 Indian Vegetarian Restaurant Chain” and it would be hard to argue that very specific claim. But how’s the food? Overall I’d say the food was very tasty. THe service was great. The atmosphere is pleasant and the dishes, plates and glasses are fancy. With a sizable menu, delicious food, and great service I think vegetarians and non-vegetarians will enjoy this restaurant.

We had been to this restaurant before and decided to visit again while in London. We took the tube to East Ham and walked a short distance to get here. It was very busy and we had to wait around half an hour to be seated. Once seated, we quickly placed our food order. Our masala dosas arrived promptly and were a generous size and absolutely delicious. The serving staff were friendly, helpful, and had great smiles. The food was top-notch and reasonably priced. We will definitely be coming back again.
