"We pre-booked for 19:30 weeks in advance using the app, on the night we arrived on time and was greeted by the front of house and told to wait while they get our table ready, we we surprised at it was not busy and there was lots of tables ready. We waited 25 minutes, before we had to flag down a waitress, they had forgotten about us!! Unbelievable as we where the only couple in the reception area. We we showed to our table and left again without even a attempt for a drinks order. Finally when they came around after another 15 minutes we ordered wine and a starter. When it came to mains I ordered the fillet steak, when it arrived it was over cooked, so I send it back, what a mistake, the head chef was throwing pots and pans around, we waited and waited when a replacement steak arrived it was cold as it was sitting on the side so long before it was served. I refused to pay for the poor quality of food and the absolutely diabolical service. This place is under staffed and not worth going. As we walked out we realised that the reason for the poor service was that all the staff was to busy with the room service orders. Do go, worst experience ever, truly!!!"

It was an amazing romantic dinner before the Sting Show! Many Thanks to the staff for the birthday greeting to my wife!

My first time here and OMG it was chocolate heaven! My friend and I shared the baked hot chocolate from their winter specials menu.

I had a great meal at the Scottish Steak Club. I ordered the butchers cut with skinny fries and replaced the onion rings with fried onions. I also loved the customizable ice cream sundae. I will definitely be returning.

Really nice food, portion sizes a little on the small side, waiters are very polite it did take a while for plates to be clear and drinks to be brought to the table. Worth the money we paid as we ate of the set menu £36 each which included a glass of prosecco. Would definitely visit again have already recommended to others.

It can be hard to find when driving, as there is no direct access from the motorway. The hotel parking is not easily accessible, despite what was advertised. The table near the kitchen was uncomfortably warm, or the air conditioning may not have been working. It doesn't seem like they offer cocktails, and we were not given a menu. The steak was tasty, though.

The dining room is immaculate and well served by attentive but unintrusive staff who ensure that the dining experience is all that you would want. Great steaks cooked as you requested, in some other venues you can be disappointed with the food, but certainly not here. The service was prompt enabling us to eat and settle up in good time to get to our seats in the Theatre for the start of the gigg. We will certainly visit the MacDonald again, hopefully in the near future.

We chose the rump steak (medium rare). Although nicely seasoned and of good flavour sadly the meat was very tough to chew with only about 50-75% of the steak actually edible. The garnish was meagre. Sad to say we have had a better steak supper cooked at home with supermarket meat. Dessert was not as advertised, passion fruit ice-cream was in fact vanilla and the tiramisu was quite underwhelming. Very poor value for money in fact we cancelled our reservation for the next evening and had room service instead which was half the price and very pleasant.

A group of four of us dined at this restaurant on a Thursday evening. We were colleagues on a work trip and were impressed by the great menu, particularly the highlight being the steaks. There were plenty of other options available and the food was perfectly cooked and presented. It was really tasty. The dessert menu offered a variety of regular desserts as well as a 'make your own' Sundae option, where you could tick off your choices. We all thought this was a great idea and opted for the Sundaes, all of which were excellent. We are looking forward to returning to this restaurant in the future.

"Alborz is a wonderful hidden gem in Levenshulme that serves a variety of Persian and Middle-Eastern food, located on Stockport Rd you could be forgiven for thinking that Alborz is as unassuming as it's humble exterior suggests. However, what lies behind those modest doors is truly fantastic restaurant both in terms of food and service. The interior is understated and tasteful, furnished with Persian vases and ornate tea sets, the tables are close together to make the most of the limited space available but this lends a refreshing communal atmosphere to your meal. The staff were friendly and attentive and more than happy to talk you through the menu and explain the various dishes. We ordered the Mezze Platter to start, this consists of four different starters, and is ideal if you're not overly familiar with Persian cuisine, the homemade hummus was a particular highlight being both fresh and tasty. We then ordered the Alborz special grill for two, which looks as wonderful as it tastes, succulent skewers of koobideh and chicken accompanied by grilled vegetables, saffron rice and a freshly baked taltoon bread which was frankly quite ridiculous in its magnificence and is so large it came supplied with its own stand. This was a true delight to eat and I can highly recommend it. After all of that, we were overloaded with food and couldn't possibly consider having dessert and so, asked for the bill, which led to true surprise of the evening, all of this wonderfully authentic and fresh food came to a grand total of £42. This reflects tremendous value in a time where a meal for two can often prove quite expensive. Overall I would say that Alborz is definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and if you're not well then it's worth making the trip for. If you're a fan of Persian food or perhaps want to try something new then you would genuinely struggle to find such a quality dining experience at this price point."

"I've been to a couple of different Dishoom branches a few times and have never been disappointed by the breakfast options. The sausage naan roll is excellent. A couple of really tasty vegan sausages with some melted vegan cheese all wrapped up in a lovely soft naan and served with some sort of sweet chilli dipping sauce. My go to now is usually the vegan Bombay. It's a good hearty breakfast plate with... a couple of the same well seasoned vegan sausages. Some vegan tofu akuri a nicely spiced tofu scramble. Some very well cooked mushroom slices (that are maybe a wee bit under seasoned). The baked beans are really nicely spiced, elevating them far beyond the standard sweet sauce fare that's the usual. A few slices of well flavoured black pudding (that could be fried to being a bit crispier). A cooked tomato which is a bit dull, I've never been keen on tomatoes on my breakfast plate and this once has not changed my mind. It could do with some more charring and maybe some spicing. To help you mop everything up, the whole thing is served with a couple of soft bread buns that have been nicely toasted. I usually top the whole thing off with some chocolate chai with oat milk you get free refills for your chai. Unfortunately, it isn't wheelchair accessible. There are stairs up into the restaurant and various small flights of stairs to get to different parts of the restaurant. Updated from previous review on 2024 03 25"
