"Once a month from Spring through Autumn the Secret Herb Garden offers a three course dinner with matched wines to coincide with the full moon. Having visited The Secret Herb Garden many times before to eat at the cafe, buy plants and gin, and soak up the garden 's atmosphere I was curious to give the Full Moon Dinner a try. I called three times to ask, and check, about the suitability of the food and wine for vegans and was told there would be options. However when we arrived it became clear that the vegan meals would be the vegetarian menu items with animal products removed. None of the dessert options were vegan, or able to have components removed to make them so. We were offered a serving of sorbet instead. Additionally, no one could tell us if any of the matched wines were vegan, despite there being a wine guy. Apparently he had forgotten to bring his notes. We did a quick Google search and found that some of the wine pairings were vegan, but not for all courses. Why the wine guy couldn 't use a search engine is beyond me. The food was disappointing and not especially filling. The meals with animal products appeared to be prepared with more flavour, satisfying portion sizes, and value as other reviewers have noted. We never even saw any of the promised canapes at the beginning of the meal, and when the coffee and petit fours arrived at the end it took more nagging to discover if they were vegan or not (surprise, they were not). The candles, flower arrangements, and live music were spectacular, but were really let down by the food and service. I 'm mystified as to why the wine guy, who contributed nothing, received greater applause for his ramblings than the musician who spent the entire evening entertaining us. Sadly, I 'm not sure I would repeat the experience or recommend The Secret Herb Garden as a wedding venue as a result. Vegetarian options: Not recommend. Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair friendly."

Had brunch in the gorgeous glass house. Such an incredible space for a cafe! Food was tasty, but a bit pricey for the small servings. That'll be because you're paying for the experience . Had a lovely stroll around the gardens after brunch and couldn't rate them better! Meal type: Brunch Price per person: £10–20 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

I hadn't been here in a long time, and I noticed that it has changed significantly. The seating is now much more formal. The coffee was excellent, and the cakes looked lovely, although I didn't try any food. It's wonderful that the place is dog-friendly, allowing us to bring our new puppies. The staff was very friendly as well. I really appreciate the unique charm of this place.

WEDDING VENUE REVIEW If I could give Karen her team here a 1000 stars I would. If you are looking for a wedding that is tailored to you, intimate with an abundance of support along the way then this is the place to get hitched. Let's not forget you don't have to do much to make this venue look absolutely magical! Karen was like a bit in a wedding planner! She made the planning on the lead up to the wedding easy, she was there to calmly answer all my irrational questions and thoughts! On the day she was an absolute dream, ran the day with military precision, the rest of the team are like a well olied machine, we could just sit back and enjoy. Food incredible, rated best wedding food by everyo...

The meat and fish dishes were generously portioned and beautifully presented. In contrast, the vegan option, while nicely plated, was quite small—around 20% of the caloric content of the meat dishes. While it's common for vegan options to be lighter in calories, this particular course was too skimpy to properly accompany the wine pairing. The staff did provide generous wine servings, which was lovely, but sipping on wine with an almost empty stomach led to some lightheadedness. It’s disappointing that in the 21st century, some chefs still view vegetarian and vegan dishes as secondary. The Secret Herb Garden could take a cue from restaurants like Dean Banks and Timberyard, which excel at pre...
