"Hotel Seehof is located directly on the banks of the Ammersee. From the outside you can see something older, but top renovated. The rooms are modern, with water and box spring beds. From them you have a magnificent view over the lake and in clear days on the Bavarian Alps. I didn't miss myself, but I looked at a room. My husband and I were at lunch with a wonderful sunshine. Of course you are not in the original guest room, but you are looking for a place in the beer garden, right on the shore with a view of the steamer docking station. And sometimes the horn of the ship suddenly sounds loud. The beer garden is equipped with tables and comfortable chairs, has blooming tablecloths and fabric napkins and lavender pots as decoration on the table. The numerous waiters, all in the same dress, quickly competent and friendly. A more noble atmosphere. We just wanted a little, the hunger was not great yet, and actually we were more concerned about the cozy sitting on the water, also got a direct table. We were served by a nice Japanese head who spoke to my husband with Mr. Mayor and quickly brought drinks and menus. A large glass of elder choir for me and a Hofbräu beer for my husband quickly extinguished thirst. Of most dishes on the menu there were also small portions, so Schnitzel Wiener Art and meat cheese were ordered with potato curk salad. The food from regional ingredients, on the first side of the map stood all sources of supply, butcher, baker, gardener from the area. After a reasonable time served ,nett dressed, small but sufficient, for 9, 50 per serving slightly covered in price, but you do not sit at the lake every day. The meat cheese somewhat too much browned, the scavenger a little salty in the panade, the potato maissalat very delicious. Good 4 stars are worth the food experience here."

Very recommended beer garden with Hammer Seeblick and sunset. Friendly ladies at checkouts, usually enough places to choose from, except in high season. Always busy on the way around the lake. Food beer garden good standard, good Hofbräu beer!

Gorgeous view from Ammersee, magnificent beer garden directly at the lake under chestnuts, great culinary selection, vegetarians also find something fine here, in summer lots of operation, the wheel steamer place right next to the iergarten, incomparable sunsets ... what more do you want?

Arrogant, unfriendly and superb. Wanted to eat outside for lunch, was full. No problem, we can sit inside, we asked the inflated boss de Maitre . Answer: If you want to wait long, apparently this is another establishment inside which does not necessarily speak for its corporate identity. He just let us stand. Don't worry, you'll eat delicious elsewhere!

A nicely decorated place. A varied menu. With delicious food and drinks. The pork roast with strong sauce, fluffy potato dumplings, screedy crust and herb salad. The veal breast classic with white bread filling and a varied vegetable supplement, with fine roast sauce. The price level in the upper midfield. Staff friendly and fast. Parking for a fee is available.

We had booked days in advance and our booking was not available. Conclusion: Very unorganized and unprofessional. Moreover, the lady on the terrace that served us was very unfriendly..Also the map is very manageable and simple. I was expecting more from such a place, with so intense prices. We have changed to the Italian around the corner, where our expectations were more than exceeded. The only star that this place deserves is the location to the lake and if I were the owner I would place more value on customer service and quality that is appropriate to the price that it demands.

"Prolog Day 2 of our short holiday in the fiveseenland in Oberbayern. The stay was in a pension with TF and the main meals should be taken out. As far as the plan. A formidable weather had also been planned and in this respect it had been quite well. Late breakfast, a little bite, in the afternoon I was on a more or less big round by bike and then... well. Then there should be lunch and/or dinner. There were also plenty of restaurants and economies here, but with the network presence and, in particular, with reviews, and it looks quite mau. Also on other portals. Changed tenants and thus deteriorated kitchen had to be easily filtered out. Also partly verbal houses and so on the return made a small gambling. Now it goes off In this gambling we then pulled the third lot in the evening of the second day. The Colosseum in Herrsching. What do you do on holiday in Upper Bavaria when you are looking for something to eat? The local cuisine is rewarded. And because Oberbayern for some soooo far south is of course the Italian. Clear case, right? Of course, the days were more often followed by Herrsching. The Colosseum, which is located directly on one of the main roads, fell constantly. Of course, only the usual zero and 5-stars can be found on the Internet. Oh, my God, the net is stupid! And as the net is fed by people, I'm going to help make the net a little bit less stupid today. Own blocks are of course excluded! Man, come to the Colosseum, you have to count on bosses! This chief greeted us very lousy and honestly when entering the house. It was a warm and friendly welcome and we were very pleased. Our decision on free table selection was “outside!”. Whether that was a good choice was evident from the time alone. Temperatures were quite appropriate to the “outside”. As a village child, I like “outside” rather than “inside”. However, “outside” was also traffic. Lots of traffic. Thus, “drinking” might not have been “inverted”. Inside it was quite nice and well air-conditioned. (Who is now maulting Anglicisms, I want to say that I have deliberately “climateded”. Everyone is talking about the climate and I didn't want to give my must too). Nice and separated the tables were placed and many optical partitions were drawn in. That would have liked. We sat outside and got some delicious cars to face. Leaks in the form of “sufficient”. Fortunately, the less leak that the carbon burners left out was not noticeable. With time, however, the traffic also quickly and clearly left and it was still very relaxed and cozy. The squares also gradually filled up outside until they were fully occupied for our return home. Our drinks ordered by Cheffe (white beer and special, each 0.5l to 3.60) came immediately and well cooled to our outdoor table. Previously, the menus were also served, from which we then also placed our food wishes when the drinks were rich. Insalata Nicerda with cheese. Tuna, ham and egg (10,80) for us before together, Pizza Colosseum, with ham, salami, mushrooms, peppers and peppers (9,30) and Tortellini alla Romana with ham, mushrooms and tomato sauce (8,80). Then we had a common sense with our neighbours and the road. With us, we can do it very well. The road was also increasingly holding back. Were the one or other peasant porn, real Porsche, and testosteronea still quite nicely lacked us in the absence of these tubes then somehow nothing. After a nice time, the salad also found two extra plates in our place. And, look, there are still a leaf salad that can be made throughout when it comes to the table of the guest. Unfortunately, the leaf salads were mainly Eissalat and therefore very simple nature. The rest, however, fits perfectly and could taste. He came to the table with some white bread, which didn't really evoke popularity. That was okay. Not less but much more. Bread to lettuce Then our main dishes came after a suitable time. Cheffe now enjoyed other guests and we had our rest. The Tortellini received my favorite woman as a decent average. The tomato sauce very nice but not of particular concern. The filling of Tortellini, however, strongly reminded them of “Ravioli from the can”. The champignons were fresh and fit well. Your judgment: “I wouldn’t go very far for it.” But they were nicely decorated. Unfortunately, the picture has become a bit fuzzy to me. Tortellini The pizza looked really good. Ordinarily covered with fresh ingredients, somewhat raised edge and thin ground. These were some corner points that AndiHa had liked very well. Pizza Colosseum But that the edge was not only airy but also hard, AndiHa does not find that desirable. Even the floor was thin but not firm, but also hard. Hmmm. At least the dough was otherwise ok from the wort. Unfortunately, the covering or the sugo had hardly any muscles and sent the pizza in its tasteful lower midfield. In addition, ordered garlic was present on both dishes, but in both dressed only virtuous but not really tasty. Since the extra ordered garlic did not appear on the bill, we stabbed him under our friend Harvey. Somehow there isn't. We were on vacation and the question of our satisfaction was answered by us stress-free. It had to be okay. Detailed discussions did not have to be. The Ristorante has a banner hanging on the house to be pointed out at 45 years of presence on site. I'm not talking to the boss that there's air up there! There was also a very tasty limonchello. He had muscles. Too bad the rest didn't go so broadly. It was vacation and we approved a nice Ramazotti on the balcony when we returned home. There was no discussion about whether we would visit this house again. It was a nice evening. Then."

"You will read hundreds of reviews on Kaiserschmarrn in Bavaria, and most of them will be "the best I've evern eaten", "best in the world" etc... Read along to see why, next to a great local atmosphere, excellent valued Bavarian food, the Kaiserschmarrn would be worth the detour for anyone, tourists and Bavarians alike, wishing to try out a high level piece of traditional local dessert (well, it is actually Austrian/Tirolian, but well...)Pictures don't lie, so I added a few to document the report.Short version:1: Chef CHRISTIAN THIEL's decadently good Kaiserschmarrn, very "eggy", humid inside, crusty outside, sweat and fruity. For further details and pictures, see below!! incl. TRICKS ON HOW and WHEN TO ORDER2: good Bavarian specialities at very good value3: Nice service, good facilities in traditional Bavarian style and a great Biergarten4: Practical Tipps: Parking and surroundingsLONG VERSION1: THE KAISERSCHMARRNA big THANK YOU to CHEF CHRISTIAN THIEL (hope I remember the name well?..) who not only offered a delightful gastronomical moment, but even shared some of his recipe "secrets" when I asked for. And, NO, I am not going to disclose them - just go, try, and ask :)First things first: if you are a tourist and want to discover this traditional Austrian dish, always ask if they prepare it as you order, or if it is already ready and will probably be re-heaten for you. A very simple trick: ask "how long is the order time for Kaiserschmarrn". Not a single restaurant is able to prepare it freshly, cook, assemble in less than 20-30 minutes. As you can expect, when I asked in Gasthof Post, I was warned that "sorry, Sir, it would take at least 20 minutes, I hope it will be ok for you". Oh yes, dear, so completely OK. TRICK: order the Kaiserschmarrn before finishing the main dish, or even order both at the same time, asking for the Kaiserschmarrn to be served with a delay.Second : Since we arrived in Bavaria, we have now tried about 10 or 12 versions of Kaiserschmarrn. Until now, the very famous GASTHAUS RUF in Seefeld, really just 10 minutes drive away, boasted our favorite Schmarrn, but Post topped it thanks to a few details... Even before the first try, the smell revealed something I was hoping for for a long time, and which was confirmed with the very first bit: a very strong EGG TASTE, and I mean the "yellow taste". When I asked Mr. Thiel about it, he revealed a very simple but obvious trick, which confirmed the feeling and which I am now applying on my own home Kaiserschmarrn and which surprised more than one of our guests... This Kaiserschmarrn is NOT the big and fluffy version, which you get served in lots of other places and which you would expect in case you do consider (as so many do) this dish as destroyed version of the big German pancake put into pieces, and which fluffiness you would obtain by mixing white egg into the dough. The slices are thinner (remember the egg trick), but somehow the chef succeeds in keeping the interior humid, while the exteriors are deliciously crusty (I add a picture to illustrate this. I almost never see anyone succeed in this little so important fact)In this restaurant, not only do they cook the dough from both sides, they also, as it should be, sprinkle it with sugar and caramelize it by putting the pan into the hot oven for a few more minutes. They add roasted almonds and rum marinated raisins. YUM, YUM, YUM. A tiny little regret: it came served with apple compote, while I love the prune's compote even more. But: it was, as it happens often, VERY GENEROUS as well. Hence, my wife and I having not been exceptionally hungry before arriving in the Gasthof, and after having eaten the main dish together, got more than enough to do with the Kaiserschmarrn. Only real regret: not to have been there since !!2: GOOD VALUE TRADITIONAL DISHESGasthof zur Post offers a lunch special composed of Knödel, red cabbage and pork, great amounts for very competitive 10 EUR (? - approx. value, I dont remember exactly, this was 5 months ago :) ) . We ordered only one for two, as we had eaten not long before, but didn't regret it, as the portions are HUGE and we might have struggled to finish a full part each. And as we saw, lots of plates were taken from very happy customers at other tables, but with some remains on it. As the full meal gets served in less than 5-10 minutes, you realize they probably have large amounts of it ready, in particular as this is their advertised special. But fair enough: the food was well cooked, not as fatty and sugary as for so many other "special reheated tourist rip offs", well cooked. Very tasty. We didn't leave a piece of it!Check the picture to see. While the food was "very good", it wasn't outstanding (apart of the Kaiserschmarrn, you get it ..),hence only 4 out of 5 stars: as there are so many "5 stars" and "best in the world" reviews on this site, it is important to reserve the 5 stars to outstanding dishes. Note that a "Gasthof"'s ambition is not to produce haute cuisine, but solid regional food at good value, which objective is 100% reached in Gasthof Post. 3: SERVICE was friendly, and flexible, like accepting to take orders for the Kaiserschmarrn 30 minutes in advance (so that it was delivered when main dish is ready..) Quick, friendly, even if it took some time before we first got served and tried to get the staff's attention. Unfortunately, one of the staff made an a little grumpy impression, which reduces the general grade for service in this review.LOCATION: We sat on the terrace directly alongside the buidling, next to the flower pots displayed at each window. The Biergarten is located on the other side of a pedestrian only path (or is the Biergarten belonging to another location? - can't say for sure...). The TERRACE is lovely, not too big, ca 50 meters from the road hence far enough not to get stressed by passing by traffic. you might get a view of the surrounding hills, depending on your position on the terrace. The interiors are spotless and kept in the most local style. Lots of wood, red and white and blue fabrics... Flowers on the window banks... While walking around to check out the inside of the house, I got attracted to a little, ultra traditionally presented, alcove-like secluded room for about 10-15 (?) persons. Seemed to me the perfect spot for group gatherings of the special type..4: PRACTICAL TIPPSThe restaurant is located just about 10 minutes on foot from the train station, and not much more from the lake banks. The If coming by car, there is plenty of FREE PARKING around the place. Just read the signs properly :) If a parkign sign says "day and time", (for instance Montag-Samstag 10:00 - 18:00), then you do NOT need to pay your parking outside these times (for instance when parking on Sunday at 13:00...) even if there is a parking meter just next to your car :) and that parking is paying 7/7 and 24/24 on the other side of the street....We used Herrsching at a starting point to walk to KLOSTER ANDECHS, which is, at a "hiker's pace", 30 minutes away, what would be between 60 and 90 minutes for relaxed walkers, families... The well waymarked paths lead you through stunning prealpine landscapes, little marvelous forests, and finaly to the ultra scenic and historic cloister of Andechs. The lake offers plenty of other possibilities to enjoy the outdoors. Both the walk to Andechs and the lake shores are overcrowded, but this doesn't disturb most of people and shows how easy these scenic places are reachable from Munich. Hence, the restaurant is the perfect REWARD after a nice walk in and around Herrshing."
