Delicious! The spoon cafe bistro in edinburgh served delicious food in a quirky casual restaurant. I would definitely go again.

I would describe eating as rustic, but it was delicious and obviously made by scratches. I was insecure when I booked it, but I would return without hesitation. the personal was pleasant and attentive. View menu

We ate an evening meal in Spoon in Edinburgh. The food was delicious and the staff were friendly and efficient. Perhaps there could be more veggie options on the menu, however. The portion sizes could also be more generous.

Spoon Cafe Bistro in Edinburgh was lovely food and good sized, well spaced out tables. The staff were lovely and were very apologetic for the unbelievably noisy group that came in a while after us. Ths was the only down side to a lovely dinner and we chose to go somewhere quieter for coffee and desert.

I dined at Spoon during the Fringe. Normally during the Fringe restaurants are packed and horrible to sit in. But because Spoon is located through a small door and up a flight of stairs it missed the rush. The food is fantastic, well sourced, free range, really tasty. the restaurant had relaxing feelings for its inner and friendly staff. the meal was ok, not especially special but nevertheless good dinning experience. I had grilled and reed with black pudding. meat was little hard, but recovery was nice compliments. only one or two vegeterian main dish I thought is little dissapointing and it was also pasta court.

'MEDIOCRE ' was the overall agreed description for Spoon, Edinburgh by our table. The Restaurant itself was quite quirky in decor although sparse for size of room which was light and airy. Service was slow considering restaurant was no where near half full (even during Festival) we had to prompt staff for everything! Food was average and over priced for what we received. 2 out of 4 of fish dishes ordered were over cooked as was pasta dish. On the plus side beef was lovely and hand cut chips were amazing!

I just wanted to warn with toptable users that when we arrived at spoon, they had no record of our booking, as they said they had no more to do with toptable. I am really not sure why they are still listed on the website, but best to book directly if they want to go. regarding the place in itself, we enjoyed our early evening, the visit of spoon, although I felt it was not a fantastic price-performance ratio. the room is quirky, although perhaps not scattered enough to feel the huge space really intimate or home. the personal is friendly, and eating was solid when unspectacular. I think it's a nice place for brunch and paper, but not back to dinner. View menu
