"For a few weeks, a construction site on the federal road has regularly led to considerable traffic jams on the high bridge over the North-East Canal, which only slowly dissolved after 18:30. But on this day it was still before 18:00 when I made my way through Kiel to the north. I decided to visit a restaurant on the south side of the canal and then decided to visit this restaurant where I hadn't been for years. Operation Behind the entrance door I had to first by a curtain, then I stood right in front of the vault and was greeted by two operators standing there friendly smiling. On my question for a free table one consulted the reservation book and then confirmed that a table is still available for one and a half hours. I'm sure that's enough, and then she accompanied me through the whole place to the bottom corner where a table with two seats was still free. I took a seat there and immediately she gave me the menu, then she disappeared. Shortly afterwards, a colleague came to receive my beverage order and then serve the drink after a few moments. The four young women in service obviously had Asian roots, but they spoke (with an exception accent-free German. The German customs in the gastronomy were also familiar to them; just after serving the dishes, it was regularly asked at all tables whether everything was okay. Even later, the obligatory question of whether it tasted, and the payment was asked if one wanted a plum wine “on the house”. Since uniform clothing also fits the style of the house, a quite high number of points is quite appropriate here. Food bids are Thai cuisine, the dishes are also referred to in the menu with the original names and the meats or shrimps are chosen. The degrees of sharpness are also explained and the dishes are correspondingly marked. The complete menu can be found on the restaurant's homepage: [here link] After some consideration as to the comprehensive offer, I chose “Gäng Phed, Red Currypaste in coconut milk with paprika, bamboo, eggplants, beans and Thai basil (pikant “ in the version with pork (11.90 €). It took a while, then an operation first brought a rechaud, a plate and cutlery, then in the next gear a bowl with the meat-eat mixture and a bowl with lid with rice. I filled myself from both bowls on the plate and began to eat. The meat was delicate, the vegetables crisp and the taste for coconut milk and red curry in principle as expected. However, the usual sharpness in this court was completely absent. In the map, the court is characterized by a chilischote, which is to mean “pikant”. This already not special sharpener is then probably even further reduced for the average German guest. I therefore took the container with Thai-Chili from the menage and spiced until the sharpness that I had to say was reached. In terms of quantity, the portion was quite sufficient, I could fill up three times and I became very tired. Ambiente The guest room is slightly angled and moves around the kitchen. The furniture is made of dark wood, on which also dark table tops lay red table runners. On each table there was a lamp with a high burning candle, paper napkins lying on the squares, folded in the form of a flower. Many pictures and ornaments in Asian style hang on the walls. Wall lamps form the main light source in conjunction with some table lamps, overall this gives a comfortable atmosphere in light twilight. Cleanliness As far as recognizable in the above-mentioned insulation light, the guest room was perfectly clean. Even with dishes, glasses and cutlery there was no reason to criticise. I didn't visit the toilets, so I can't say anything."
