"Nice atmosphere and friendly service. I was given a table in the section modeled after a rail car. Clean, polished wood... non stop videos of Union Pacific steam engines pulling trains actually pretty cool). The service was slow, but friendly and, once I asked for something, responsive. Being originaly from New York City, spending $75 for a steak dinner for 1 is kind of normal. And that was more than a few years ago. Tonight July 2020) I spent €85 with tip, but that seemed a bit high. The steak itself was listed at €40+. Not unreasonable, but high, nevertheless. Having said that, the portion was good not huge, which was a good thing. There was a Tomahawk on the menu for €72 or so, as well as other offerings such as bison), the steak tasty, and done exactly the way I wanted it, which is not easy to come by. In fact, everything was tasty... well, the Caesar Salad was lacking. The flavors were there, but nothing to write home about €11). The dessert was rich, sweet.. something unique to Leipzig and very good. The wine I ordered was only ok... but I’ll chalk that up to user error."

We have a fantastic dinner here during our stay in Leipzig. Our waitress was friendly and accommodating to our requests. The steaks were cooked perfectly and the sides were very abundant.

Absolutely amazing steak restaurant! We actually wanted to eat at three different restaurants during our weekend trip to Leipzig, after our first dinner experience at Steaktrain we decides to eat there three nights in a row and we were amazed every time! Steak and fish were perfectly cooked, the staff extremely friendly! We will definitely come again!

There service was absolutely AMAZING provided great suggestions about drinks and the menu. The place was very clean and had a great atmosphere. I would suggest making a reservation. The also have a tendency to cook the steak under what you want but they had zero issues fixing it for you and they also brought out all new sides for my friend whose steak was under cooked. I was completely with the restaurant and I would go back.

Absolutely the best Meat in Leipzig. What a wonderful experience, from the back in time in a train carriage feeling you get as you walk in, to the wonderfully friendly and helpful waitrons to the sublime steak cooked to perfection with tasty side orders. The prices are on the high side but in the end you get what you pay for which is a wonderful culinary delight and a must return to steakhouse! Great for work dinners especially with foreign guests!

Excellent food and service! I had a filet steak and my daughter had a barbecue burger. Both excellent. Steak was outstandingly good and although not cheap but worth every Euro. Portions are very generous and even a small starter might be too much. Wine list is OK but adding more German reds by glass would make it even better fitting the menu. The interior is a bit strange and adding the volume of the music could help avoid the awkwardly silent atmosphere. But seriously, these are just minor things. The place is definitely a recommendation!
