"Sycamore is a great addition to the Amersham cafe scene. No name sign up outside but look for the muted salmon pink paintwork. Inside seating is at small or long tables. There are a few seats outside for the occasional sunny day. Light, bright furniture and friendly, informal feel. Order at the counter, trying (in my case unsuccessfully) to resist the highly tempting cakes. The menu is short, a couple of salads, and flatbreads. These flatbreads are spectacular. I loved the fried spicy chicken thighs with harissa dressing and a green herby dressing as an extra (instead of garlic mayo, not for me but a swap was willingly offered). Copious amounts of salad on a thick but fluffy flatbread made this a perfect lunch. Having not resisted the cake, I tucked into a lemon crunch. This was delicious, with creamy sharp lemon filling topped with something light and sugary. Unhealthy, but the flatbread made up for that. Finished off with Darjeeling from a wide choice of teas (more than 2 cups in the pot).I was slightly disconcerted by the fact that lunch was to be eaten off a tray standing in for a plate, and embarrassed myself by checking that this was correct. My view is that plates are better, but then I don’t like eating off slate tiles either!Total bill with service (voluntary) was £14. The staff team were friendly and polite, and helpful. I will be back soon."

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The ambiance is absolutely stunning with beautiful plant decor, and the seating is also very comfortable. The food was delicious and the drinks were great as well. The waitress was very helpful in selecting a delicious low gluten Italian breakfast for me. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great dining experience. View menu

Went with some friends for a Sunday morning breakfast. Had some coffee and tea, and the food was amazing. The flavour is just melting in your mouth, you can tell it's good quality food and staff is very friendly and have good suggestions. The eggs were perfectly cooked to my taste, and my boyfriend had the breakfast flatbread that had a interesting harrisa kick to it. Good place for having something different.

We decided to try this restaurant because we are big fans of The Pantry in Hazlemere, which is a sister cafe to this place. We went for lunch and they offer 4/5 different tartines (open sandwiches). I chose the confit chicken with pickled onions, boiled egg, bacon, and slaw, along with a side of truffle Parmesan fries. The food was served quickly and was delicious and filling. I would definitely recommend it. If you enjoy The Pantry in Hazlemere, you will love this place as well!

I visited this restaurant around two weeks ago, as I had promised to take a friend out for lunch. When we arrived, the place was quite busy with many people on laptops and drinking coffee, but we managed to find a table. The staff were friendly and pleasant, but unfortunately, the food was not up to par. I was actually quite embarrassed that I had taken my friend there. The open sandwiches we ordered were soggy and overwhelmed with mayonnaise, which was the predominant flavor. Overall, the dining experience was very disappointing and I do not plan on returning to this restaurant. View menu

A modern and casual dining space offering a diverse breakfast and lunch menu inspired by traditional and international flavors. The restaurant features exotic and unique ingredients for those seeking something different from typical British cuisine, as well as options for those with more conservative tastes. The atmosphere is laid-back with background music playing at a reasonable volume. Customers order their food and drinks at the counter and may need to view a printed menu as it is not displayed on the walls or tables. Seating options include long communal tables with benches. The food is delicious, though some items, like the bread, could be fresher. Prices are affordable and the coffee...

One odd thing about this place is that it took a while for it to get a name, and even now, there is no indication of what they sell from the outside. Looking through the door, you can only see a coffee/tea menu and some cakes, with no mention of their breakfast or lunch options. Additionally, there are no opening times displayed outside. It would be beneficial for them to easily display their menu and opening times on the window to attract more customers, as they may be missing out on business in a town full of coffee shops. Especially on a Sunday lunchtime when their two closest competitors are closed, they could be capitalizing on more customers. Despite having a great product, their lack...
