"Fresh and well priced seafood. Excellent house vermut. Friendly staff. They offer very good wines by the glass (Baigori, Roda, etc... . It is unusual to find this good of quality wine by the glass and at good prices, in Madrid tapas bars. Few tourists and filled with locals. It gets noisy and crowded but it is fun. They are on a semi-quiet street and offer outside tables. This is a real hidden gem in central Madrid neighborhood. It is close Igelsia and Quevedo metros and Calle Ponzano. Worth finding if you like good wine seafood, and searching for an authentic Madrid tapas bar off the tourist trail."

View menu

Thank you to Andrea who owns an apartment above la mina bar and restaurant. Absolutely adored Madrid, as soon as we arrived on the Thursday we drank the local Mahoo beer at la Minas with the staff being very hospitable, cracking little bar indeed. We stayed in the apartment above which was perfect for our weekend trip away in Madrid. We were close to practically everything, bars, restaurants and literally a 30 minute walk into the central city of Madrid. Highly recommend this place to stay for a weekend break. We shall return.

This resto was a pleasant surprise. We walked in without any expectations but came out immensely satisfied! We had the gambas plancha, scallops, grilled squid, seared tuna and a pitcher of sangria. These were the chef's recommendations, he literally came over to our table to explain the dishes in English since he saw us struggling with the waiter. What a sweet guy! Everything came out delicious and their seafood is so fresh. The sangria was refreshing and was the perfect pair for the tapas. No wonder after some time the place filled up with locals. Two thumbs up!
