Here you can have nice meals at good value. the steaks are grilled perfect and the service is always nice and friendly

Where to go for dinner when in Leer, Ostfriesland? What about BBQ? Well, they certainly have BBQ but it's nothing like Texas.

The Texas River Ranch is located behind the dyke of the river Ems in the suburb of Bingum. It's a couple of kilometers out of town, but well worth it. They have steaks, salads and all different meat dishes you would expect. It's not cheap, but still good value.

War ein schöner Abend aber das Essen war wirklich schonmal besser, die burger pattys waren keine pattys sondern eher sehr kompakte Frikadellen und sie waren leider nicht gut. Die Bratkartoffeln waren sehr dick geschnitten und haben bissel alt geschmeckt. Aber sonst war alles super Cocktails, Milch shakes und die brownies waren super. Ich kenne das Essen echt besser aber vielleicht war ja gestern der Wurm so gesehen drin. Aber so location und Bedienung waren wie immer super.

The restaurant itself is attractively furnished, open kitchen and waitresses style full in western clothing. We had different kind of foods, meat, fish, salad. We had to wait quit long for our food, more than half an hour. Although the quality of the fish and meat was good, it lacked a good preparation. The fish was too salted, the meat too much well done. On side a fresh pineapple, but not ripe. The place has potential but foods and guests need much more attention, moreover because it is not cheap. View menu

Der erste Eindruck war durchweg sehr positiv. Wir sind sehr freundlich empfangen und sofort zu unserem Platz geführt worden. Die Einrichtung und das gesamte Ambiente ist genau so, wie es von einem „Ranch-Restaurant“ erwartet wird. Die Mitarbeiter im Service sind supernett und hilfsbereit. Man hat sich sofort willkommen gefühlt. Allein der Service ist schon fast ein Grund das Restaurant erneut zu besuchen. Schade, dass man hierfür nur 5 Sterne vergeben kann. Unser bestelltes Essen kam, trotz vollem Gastraum, in einer angemessenen Zeit. Die Kartoffelspalten und Pommes Frites waren hervorragend, sowohl von Geschmack, als auch Konsistenz. Eaten here a couple of times and sampled a fairly large range of their food. The meat dishes are worth a visit (beef/pork steaks etc.), but you have to be willing to put up with some fairly unimpressive service (see later comments). Coming from Texan heritage I was not expecting outstanding BBQ/Grill food bearing in mind the location and I wasn't disappointed. (E.g. Steaks could have been rested more before service. Veggies were overcooked and floppy. But it was a really nice cut of meat with great flavour).Prices aren't cheap, but they wont bowl you over. Fairly limited range of beers.But the service was atrocious. Last visit the place was around half full, we sat next to a fairly big table...

We had reserved a table for 5 at 6 pm. I arrived first and was told to pick any table. I sat down and waited for my guests who were a bit delayed. Ten minutes later I was finally approached by the waiter. I wanted to order my drink but she just wanted to know how many guests would join me. I answered and she disappeared without taking my order. A few minutes later another waiter arrived. Again not to take my order but only to ask me to move to a different table. I did and waited again as the waiting staff moved through the restaurant expertly ignoring the guests. Next another waiter came rushing to the table.
