"Poor value for money Sunday diner. The adult portion and the child’s portion were the same size. £12 a head was very expensive to leave hungry. We tried to get the waiters attention to discuss but he was busy talking about another restaurant he works at. We left hungry (we are not big eaters at all) Very poor value for money on the Sunday diner and not the best service either. Pity as we have always previously enjoyed. Will give it a miss in future."

James, Romania and the rest of ghe staff were outstanding. The quality if the gammon is probably the best we have had even at much higher prices, very happy.

All amazing and always have been. Have gone for years since I moved to Bicester over five years ago. Probably the best place to go if your next to Bicester village or even going for shopping.

Haven’t been to The Acorn for probably a year and a half, and was massively disappointed But on our return in February 2024 what a difference! Good staff, attentive and helpful, and the food was great, good price and good choices. We will return

A lovely wholesome pub full of incredible, attentive staff. We have been here before but since Ian, the new manager, has taken over it’s been totally transformed for the better. A real local friendly vibe about it. We LOVE it! You won’t be disappointed by this pub, it’s glorious! View menu

We absolutely adore The Acorn. It is a warm and charming pub that we feel so comfortable in. Since Ian took over as manager last year, the place has really improved. We look forward to the pub quiz every Tuesday and every visit feels like returning to our home away from home. Keep up the fantastic work, you wonderful staff!

We were warmly welcomed by the staff at the restaurant. It had been six months since our last visit, as we are not locals. There had been some changes in the staff, but all of them contribute to making this a place we love to return to. The food was delicious and served hot, especially the curry sauce which was amazing. Ian added to the fun atmosphere with his random songs. We are looking forward to our next visit!

"I’m frustrated and annoyed with booking a romantic meal for our year wedding anniversary, with the current pandemic and work commitments it made a change to make an effort and be excited to visit the boxing hare as the reviews had been excellent. We...were seated in the garden room, next to a family who were on first name terms with the waiting staff and who were so loud I thought I was at a Chelsea match! We received complimentary glasses of champagne and we placed our order for starters and main which were excellent however I felt rushed with the service, as much as I tried to have a conversation all I could hear was this family at decibels to which enough was enough usually I would say something, however rather than ruin there evening I asked for us to be reseated to which the waiting staff were in agreement that they were loud! So why place us next to them? We were given a table in a different part of the pub still busy with other diners giving respect to one another. The table given I was advised I had as it was reserved? I placed dessert order and two lattes with baileys followed by the bill! The bill was a tad on the steep side for a gastro pub perhaps the prices are based on the price of fuel to fill the owners Bentley Overall felt it was a rushed evening disappointed with the seating arrangements,I won’t be returning as I felt what was important to us wasn’t important to the Boxing Hare I’ve had better evenings at The Falkland Arms Great Tew, The Great Western Aynho"
