"First day out of lockdown and came across the angel pub, only wanted a quick beer so popped in, masks on and shown to a table by Amber, who looks after front of house and runs the bar, mother runs the kitchen looking after the food.. 2 real ales, Timothy Taylors was my choice, turned out to be a very wise one, superb pint, as we're walking stayed for second, log burner going and locals very friendly, all willing to chat over a pint, returned next day lunchtime fish and chips and chicken parm with fresh veg, some of the best pub food we have had on our travels, thank you the angel, took photos at opening time to avoid crods spoiling pictures,"

Great pub! I visited for the first time today while on my regular twice-a-week trip through this village. We hadn't stopped by in months. The selection of drinks is fantastic, including high-quality real ales. The drinks were lovely, the staff were friendly, and the atmosphere was delightful. Absolutely brilliant!

First time we've been. The food was more than acceptable, and the service was excellent. It's a homely pub with beams, a fire and locals. We had drinks, mains and puddings and our bill was £83!! How good is that? Dietary restrictions: One of our party was gluten free. Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I had a wonderful dining experience at the restaurant after a local hike with my hiking group. The meal was exceptionally well-prepared and cooked, especially the fish. The staff were very friendly, and the food was freshly made at very reasonable prices. There are plenty of parking spaces available as well. I highly recommend this place! View menu

Atmospheric local village pub. Limited menu but try the steak and ale pie with proper short crust pastry and fresh vegetables, delicious!!. We managed to get a table without booking but several people who came after us were told they were fully booked so would recommend booking. An excellent pint of Timothy Taylor's Landlord. Good value all round.

We wanted to eat here, but unfortunately, the kitchen closed at 2 o'clock, so we were left feeling a bit cramped and dissatisfied. However, the bartender in the early afternoon was friendly and engaging, and we enjoyed the company of the pub dog. The local darts players provided plenty of entertainment, and the real fire added a cozy warmth to the atmosphere. With reasonably priced drinks, we ended up staying for three hours instead of just one. Thank you!

"It’s sort of become tradition for my wife I to treat ourselves to a breakfast out on our last day on holiday after leaving our cottage accommodation. We spent a week in Richmond; have never been to the area before and were pleased, after internet searching, to have found this lovely place. We had to leave our cottage by 10:00am and drove the short distance straight to Middlemoor Farm and, so, arrived quite early on a Saturday morning – we were the first to arrive. It was a lovely sunny day, which just emphasised the lovely surroundings. We were greeted by a lovely lady who asked us if we’d been before, to which we said no, and she explained that it was her first ever morning on breakfasts. She was most friendly and made us feel so-very welcome. There are plenty of tables inside and we chose to sit near a window overlooking a field with sheep grazing – I mean…what an idyllic place to have your breakfast. She and the Cook were so accommodating when we asked if we could both have a ‘full English’ but with veggie sausages instead of meat sausages bacon. I say accommodating because a veggie version was not on their menu and they had to look to see if they had any, which they did. That’s worth noting for those wishing not to eat meat – just ask ‘em and see. The breakfast, side plate of toast butter and pot of tea was just perfect – really tasty and we didn’t leave a thing. There’s a lovely shop attached with many gift items, very clean toilet facilities and in addition to the indoor seating, there’s plenty of outdoor seating too; some of which were covered with a gazebo during our visit. They have card payment facilities. Thank you to the staff of Middlemoor Farm Café for making our traditional last day breakfast out one to remember – we will be back if-staying in the area again."

"We had booked with booking.com . On arrival we were told that we didn't get breakfast included and that it would be £15 a head. We accepted this although thought was pretty steep for breakfast in a pub.The first morning we were given a menu clearly stating that breakfasts were included with all accommodation. I ordered poached eggs with smoked salmon and the other two ordered a full English breakfast which included homemade black pudding. The breakfasts arrived ,one of my poached eggs was runny, the other hard. The English breakfasts had no black pudding on the plates and when queried we were told that the deliveries hadn't arrived. Doesn't homemade imply made on or near the premises and as the owner states he is a butcher by trade I would expect he had made the black pudding. No alternatives were offered and presentation was distinctly lacking , with the baked beans poured over the other items. The next day I risked the full breakfast with black pudding which was lovely. But again the others had badly cooked poached eggs. We were offered no fruit juice, cereal or even toast and marmalade. On leaving we discovered the pub was unmanned , despite poor mobile signal. The owner turned up after 15 minutes. The bill was handed over, charging us for seven breakfasts when we had six, it was adjusted after he asked if one of us had had two breakfast one day? He served and cooked them so should know the answer to that. We were also then overcharged for nine coffee when three coffees and two teas had been ordered. Having had a family B and small hotel in York I advised him that standards were not what I was used to. I spoke to someone who had also visited recently and she stated a member of staff had charged them £15 per head for their similar breakfast where we were charged the menu price. Exceptionally poor menu, inaccurate advise saying breakfast included then charging us and probably the worst breakfast I have eaten in similar accommodation."
