"Caruso is like eating in an Italian's kitchen dining room with family cooking the food. I took my tween and teenager there for the second time for my husbands and my anniversary dinner, and it was very special. The fillet and king prawns dish is the highlight of the menu (to me) and worth every pound. The parmasan of whatever version you choose is very good. The best place to eat a local classic, enjoyed by young and old. Caruso has an extensive happy hour menu and a very generous two hour slot every day. It's an all-around family favourite to dine there. Unfortunately, there are no photos this time as I was in the flow of enjoyment to remember that I could review this delight if I wanted to."

"UPDATE! We were eventually asked to come in for a complimentary meal now the new chef was up to speed. I am happy to say that things have significantly improved! I would now recommend. Worst food We have ever had. We took the mother-in-law for her 70th birthday at the end of last year. The place was freezing cold and the ceiling leaking. The food was shocking for the price we paid. We complained and were told that the head chef had left and that we would be invited back once things were “sorted”. We never received a call, not that we would go back."

"Great food and atmosphere but couldn't recommend to people with allergens or dietary requirements. 3.5 out of 5 Food was amazing but unfortunately even though we checked several times there was a mistake in our order (no bacon on the burger). We were the first food orders of the day so the kitchen shouldn't have too been busy yet. We were given assurances that the burger was bacon free when it was served but my sister opened it up and checked so thankfully she didn't eat any of the burger. It meant me and my sister shared one meal while we waited about 20 minutes for a new burger and we had a toddler with us who was very hungry. Nothing was done to compensate us for the error unfortunately which leaves a bad taste in your mouth. We loved the food here juicy flavourful burgers and well seasoned generous portion of chips. Halloumi with chilli jam was delicious but a bit measly at 3 pieces 4 pieces would make it a nice sharer for 2 people. The heaters were great and outdoor setup was amazing with cover and sandwiched between two buildings. Our server, the Asian lady, was really kind and lovely. Social distancing wasn't great we were sat right next to people, and while we didn't mind (we are both vaccinated) they were clearly uncomfortable. Booking is easy using their online system and requires a deposit to be paid (we paid £20 for two people). Sadly we couldn't recommend the place to any of our friends with allergies or specific dietary requirements given our experience. Mistakes should be handled better money off the bill or something complimentary. My sister was really upset as apparently no bacon is often an issue when she eats out, but she was expecting better from hope and Union."

"Went here for a meal and was very disappointed in both the food and service. Firstly the place was freezing as had the air con on and 3 tables mentioned it to the waitress who finally turned it off and said it will soon warm up. It had a lovely fire but wasn’t on. We ordered a burger and scampi. The meal arrived the scampi was ok but the burger was raw in the middle, it was visibly pink and just tasted of pepper, too overpowering even if it was fully cooked. We told the guy who took the plate and never offered an alternative meal. We would have normally ordered desserts and coffee but the attitude of the server was poor so we just asked for the bill and decided to go. He just brought it over with no apology and we were charged full price for the meal which unedable. This place used to be nice for food but its gone down hill. it’s average at best and to hit and miss if you’re going to have a good meal or not and for the price they charge it’s not worth going if your going to get unedable food and leave hungry. Won’t be returning after this poor experience."

"Thank you, Becky, for the wonderful service and delicious breakfast. We didn't want a large meal, so we inquired about the breakfast options. Becky explained that the portions were small, designed more for seniors, but she assured us it would be no problem to accommodate us. I must say, it was just perfect, especially after spending two hours at the hospital. The breakfast came with a fudge cake, which we declined, but Becky kindly offered to box it up for us to take home. We're also grateful for her help in finding my mom's bank card, which was quite the adventure in itself! When we got home and opened the cake, we were amazed at how huge it was. Becky is truly an asset to this establishment—so bubbly and helpful, along with another staff member who assisted us. We will definitely be back. Excellent service and food.
