"I went to this restaurant for Sunday lunch with friends and I couldn't find any faults with the staff, service, or food. The staff were friendly and attentive, the atmosphere was relaxed, and the food was delicious. I especially enjoyed the Cauliflower cheese and cherry ice cream – not served on the same plate, of course! The Yorkshire puddings were also huge and very tasty. We ordered 2 Roast beef, 1 Roast pork, 1 Fish n chips, 4 ice creams and sorbets, and some drinks, all for around £90. I would give it 4 stars at the moment, only because there is currently a building site in the car park which takes away from the country pub vibe. However, I'm sure this will change in time."

Called in on our way to Lacock and managed to get last 2 places for lunch. Service, standard of food and friendliness were all superb. Our dog was welcomed and received a treat! Thoroughly recommend.

Visited here tonight with my wife and it was the best meal we have had in ages. The homemade scotch egg starter was to die for, as was the cajun chicken burger and salmon encroute. The atmosphere in the pub was very nice and the...service and overall experience was ten out of ten. Booked to go again next week!

we have here for eating at some places after visiting aylesbury, each time with something else. the staff is really friendly and eating excellent. the houses built on the side of the pub/restaurant means they have to drive around the back. the houses to get to the parking lot, but the parking lot is quite spacious, definitiw try it out!

We booked Sunday lunch on the strength of Trip Advisor reviews and weren't disappointed. The welcome was genuine and friendly and the roast dinner surpassed expectation. All the staff were friendly and helpful but not in our faces and even took time out on a...busy Sunday lunchtime to provide some history of the building and explain the quirky painting

After we went the dogs to the white horse, we called to the black horse (cherhill) for a drink. it was lunchtime, so after ordering drinks we decided to watch their lunch menus. I chose the suppe and then (another starter instead of a pornstar) the Scotch egg. my daughter had the burger. eating was fantastic, it tasted amazing and the presentation was good. andy was great, checked us and even offered the dogs a chewing gum. beautiful pub, dog friendly, great food, beautiful service.

We had a delightful roast dinner at this restaurant today, which far exceeded our expectations. All five of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal and agreed it was the best dining experience we've had in a while. We all opted for the Sunday roast with extra sides of delicious cauliflower cheese. Despite feeling full, we couldn't resist trying the desserts, including the eton mess, crunchie cheesecake, and sticky toffee pudding, all of which were delicious. The service was outstanding, and the ambiance was warm and welcoming. It had been a while since we last visited the pub, but we will definitely be returning soon.

"We stayed here ten years ago and thought it was wonderful and worth every penny. We were so excited to return, but really Disapointed. The grounds are lovely and we were pleased with our room. The children loved the outdoor space and the pool What really let us down was the food and service. There was no luxury here. The family dining choices were poor. The children's meal was bad one had fish gougons and sweet potato fries which were very salty. The other two had pizza, the small was served as half a pizza, the large was a conventional round shape. Both were shop bought bases (cardboard) with grated Cheddar on the top. Something I would not feed them at home let alone expect in a supposedly high end dining. My husband's steak was chewy. My main, whole plaice with creamed potatoes, the potato was served in a ceramic dish and it was cold. It was taken away and then took ten minutes to return by which point I had eaten the fish. The food was incredibly expensive considering how poor the offerings were. The next day we ate a very late lunch in Bath so we would not have to eat at the hotel. The breakfast buffet area had some nice items but was really understocked and allowed to run to empty. The staff functioned but not at a steady rate, we found the service slow and the staff disinterested. Such a contrast to our previous visit. The person in charge we found sullen and felt as if our presence was an inconvenience. When we walked through to the dining areas we would hop out of the staff'so way for fear of being bulldozed. When we left the receptionist was polite but did not ask if we enjoyed our stay. A week later I had an email to complete a survey and nobody got in touch despite the same feedback as given here. Very dispointing. Lovely room and surroundings but poor food and poor attitude from staff. Last year we stayed in a hotel that cost 65% less than Wooley Grange and had a much better experience."

"We had a tremendously good lunch here today-the food was quite delicious, the staff were very friendly and helpful-I’d say it’s probably one of the best lunches I’ve had in quite some time….so to give you a clue we both had the pork-this sounded really lovely and we were not disappointed-pork belly, tenderloin,a faggot and a ham hock croquet with mashed potato and roasted cauliflower with a delicious jus and a slice of pickled apple( which I ate immediately with a piece of pork and when the waiter came to ask how our lunch was I asked if he could possibly get me another piece-which he did For dessert we shared the passion fruit crème brûlée which came with a passion fruit sorbet and some chocolate soil…..the focaccia we had at the start of the meal was superb and the coffee was also excellent -we do enjoy both cooking and eating-one of life’s pleasures and it’s abundantly clear the chef absolutely loves food too-a great display of cooking books from the greats sort of got me thinking it would be a good lunch…….also worth noting the drinks menu-some lovely wines, soft drinks and cocktails both alcoholic and non alcoholic. I finished off with a mocha which was hot chocolatey but not too sweet. Bradford on Avon is most definitely worth a visit and I’d say you would be foolish to miss out on a great experience if you didn’t also pop in to the bunch of grapes for some sustenance while there… Thanks for lunch and as Arnie says “ we’ll be back”….."
