good eating, good beer and welcoming staff that cares for them and makes them feel special. the best pub/restaurant in chipping norton!

very nicely tasty burger, was a little fat, could say that the salat was fresh from the refrigerator, which made the burger very quickly cold. helpful and friendly staff felt a little hurry with taking our food order. but everything has enjoyed our food and drinks.

Sunday party of 6 and a baby, arrived early and the table was ready for us. we cost a drink in the bar to begin, we were looked through by the manager and staff very well. the sunday roasts were a teller and half full, extremely tasty, good value for money. will be back when in the opposite.

had first roasted here and it was the best pub roast that I had ever had, personal friendly and polite, had not long to wait, bark meat and huh best I ever tasted. the whole meat and the veg was all cooked and seasoned beautiful. if they want a Sunday dinner, I recommend highley. also not bad prices.

Service was friendly, food was terrible. Fish and had to be returned, burnt batter and colleagues burger was under cooked pink and under cooked. However, the scotch egg starter was amazing. We were reimbursed without issue. Assistant manager was very professional. I'm on another evening the food might have been very good.

good food and great service of “B”, which was jovial and polite, even if we have paid the bill! great service. we went back to the blue boar. b' served us again and all the table (5 of us commented how well she managed a living group, and noticed how kind she was for an older man who had difficulty with his card. the food was so good and there was a very generous help from wine sauce, absolutely mock up! every meal was hot and well presented, and the young gent that sorted out the bill was very patient. well done.

Nice place, but the table that we were put on was right in a walk way between two doors, one to the store out side where the staff kept going in and out every few minutes, door banging, cold draft every time the door was opened, the restaurant area was empty, we were the only ones in there the could have chosen any table out of about 10 to sit us on but put us on that one. The food was ok but for the price you could have gone to any other pub and had the same meal if not better for half the price. So sorry but won't be going back.

Great meal spoilt by an argument over the bill. Super location and menu. Service was good until the food arrived. The fish on the fish and chips was so overcooked you could have used it as a baseball bat! It was quickly replaced, but then came out without the sides. Then one of our burgers was underdone. Cold and pink in the middle. This was also changed. They promised to take the fish and chips off the bill. At the end of the meal. The fish and chips was still on the bill plus a large service charge! Really disappointing from such a well rated establishment.

Firstly, cannot fault the atmosphere of the pub, and the lovely meal. However, the sneakiness of settling of the bill leaves a lot to be desired. Receipt given with a total for meal (which isn't cheap to start with), then a second subtotal with a 12.5% discretionary' service charge (which wouldn't necessarily mind but we were only there for 45 minutes for a quick meal). Cash payment not then allowed. When amount entered into card machine by waitress, not asked whether additional service charge was to be paid, and higher amount entered. Card machine then tried to be kept hidden in the hope that the customer would just wave card over the contactless and pay the higher amount. Very much left a...
