"Lovely place! Went for a Sunday lunch after doing a hike nearby with the neighbours. The food was sublime and the service was amazing. One person in our group was extremely allergic to latex gloves and this seemingly was not an issue for them at all they were super helpful and made it very clear to us about what menu items can be had for those needs. In terms of speed of service, it was absolutely grand no surprise that this place is one of the best Sunday roast spots in the valley. The vibe was very nice and the decor seemingly changes subtly all the time too. Seems to be full of dogs, which is an absolute plus! This is exactly what I look for when finishing a crisp autumn hike with my dog and friends. Certainly coming back again soon!"

"The Buddhakkan Headset and Daddy1Love representing Lancaster reggae scene drove out last night to Todmorden to show respect to UK Ponics sound at the Golden Lion. What a beautiful, beautiful place, a little piece of love nestled in the hills. The food was the best Thai dish you could possibly imagine, vegan jungle curry with stunning coconut rice. Every vegetable was carefully cut and prepared, the tofu held all the flavours of the uplifting and soul satisfying sauce with the delicate sweetness of the perfectly cooked coconut rice bringing balanced harmony to the whole dish. The reggae vibrations from the musical stations were strong and mighty, earthstrong. All brothers and sisters of all ages did leap and dance and laugh and shake to the big, big, tunes, many a rewind call from the dancefloor, respect Ras Petey and crew. Bless up all the lovely people there and gratitude and love to all the first class hard working staff and chef. A little piece of Zion. The Buddhakkan Headset."

"The restaurant offers delicious food at affordable prices. I ordered the steak with chips, mushrooms, egg, and a side salad, all of which were served in generous portions on a large plate. For dessert, I had the strawberry pavlova, which was excellent. This place is definitely worth a visit! The average cost per person is between £10 and £20. I would give the food and service a rating of 5 out of 5, and the atmosphere a 4 out of 5. I highly recommend trying the steak and chips."

"Had two very different meals here, 1st was a Sunday dinner roast beef Yorkshire pudding and all the trimmings absolutely delicious, next was through the week burger and chips with dressing and salad, absolutely brilliant I'd definitely recommend going, and the friendly staff couldn't do enough to help I notice this with being disabled, it's all on the flat, no steps absolutely brilliant"

"We booked in for Christmas Eve late lunch early tea booked in for the adult dining area to the right which we were seated in but lots of family’s in there kids running around it was very noisy,the food was delicious we had chicken goujons...to start followed by Lasagna,gammon Top brink burger the food was delicious,and the service was good,didn’t order puddings as the wild noisy children in there had drove us mad,parents letting there children run around,so we couldn’t wait to get out,last time we were there they told us that the adult dining area had gone for now due to covid but I mentioned when paying and the young lady said it was due to room for families? I understand it’s a family pub but these parents had no consideration for anyone else.Please bring the adult dining area back when it’s a table of adults only eating you don’t want to sit where kids are shouting screaming and running around."
