"A lovely traditional old pub ... the team depended on the boss-lady behind the bar, who was pulled in all directions. The small dining-room has a low ceiling and medieval small windows. The menu is supported by the Specials Board, from which I ordered Morecombe Bay brown shrimps and Cumberland sausage in a batter pudding. The shrimps were nice, but there wasn’t many of them. So to the sausage; tasty but it seemed like half a portion. Prices are very reasonable, but I'd have rather paid more for bigger portions. All in all a nice place for a meal, if you're in the area."

Stayed in caravan site in our motorhome for 1 night on a stopover. Nice little campsite. Had a takeaway meal from pub delicious food and very reasonably priced. Owners and staff super friendly and helpful. Would recommend and stay again.

A real find! This is a charming, 'proper ' pub of the type so rapidly disappearing. Good service, good food, and good company. We called in on our way to the Isle of Man ferry service from Heysham, and will encourage other passengers to do the same. View menu

Would definitely recommend this traditional character pub for a Sunday roast. Everything is home cooked, the food was lovely and the price great too. It was busy while we were there and there was a really nice welcoming atmosphere. We will return , thank you.

This pub is my number one favorite for a reason. It has everything you would want in a good pub - cozy atmosphere, well managed, and the owners really care about it. The beer selection is great and the prices are fair. The food is delicious and you feel right at home as soon as you walk in the door.

We've been at different times of the year as we live near and the food and atmosphere never fades. Good honest food not tarted up and price pumped, just delicious. It is dog friendly but as it is busy we tend to let our dog have a night at home. For a small pub the menu is varied. Popular with people on holiday as well as locals it's definitely a place to try. I'm told Sunday lunches are tremendous.

Came across this lovely olde worlde pub by pure chance having been turned away at others in the area who classed us as 'walk ins ' got a real warm welcome even though busy and a lovely cosy atmosphere. The food was excellent from the roast beef dinner to the game pie to the lamb henry and finally the bbq chicken breast all had the trimmings as well and what value for money will certainly be calling back when in the area !!
