"What a wonderful find! My partner and I recently stayed at a nearby glamping site and couldn't resist visiting this gem of a restaurant multiple times. The food was exceptional, probably the best pub food I've ever had. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. As we were on our honeymoon, we couldn't stop talking about it, which led to us sharing drinks with some locals who helped us celebrate. I've never been to such a welcoming pub before, it was truly a fantastic experience. Despite walking through heavy rain on our last night, I was determined to have another burger from there. We sat by the open fire to dry off and enjoyed a few pints. It was a memorable experience that made me not want to leave. Thank you for a wonderful time, we will definitely be returning."

Great walk-in lunch. We had a great lunch at the Bull Inn. It was a Sunday and we did not book so took a chance. Staff was very friendly and squeezed us in. Nice atmosphere and good food.

Found this pub through Tripadvisor had good reviews so thought we’d give it a try glad we did! Lovely old traditional quirky pub, good choice on menu, great food with a really nice outdoor seating area with both sunny shady tables. Will be back again. View menu

What a fabulous (ancient) Country Pub, well worth finding! Lovely atmosphere, the staff were brilliant! Had a terrific lunch, The Black Blue (Stilton) Burger cooked to perfection was exceptional. A dozen people in my party, each of them impressed with their meals. And reasonably priced too. Go find it!

This restaurant surpassed all expectations. The staff were exceptional, especially considering they were working in extreme heat. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was lovely. We returned for a second visit during our short stay in Ticehurst, and if we find ourselves in the area again, we will definitely make another reservation.

A charming old pub in the Sussex countryside. We took the detour to refuel on our long (5 hour) hike around Bewl Water. It added almost a (hilly) mile to the walk but definitely worth it. Had to resist the main menu and stick to starters and sides or we’d never get going again. Highly recommend, friendly half-way pit stop on Bewl Water, we plan to come back and try the main menu. It’s a lovely atmosphere, super cozy. Most of our meals were fine but my steak was just so bad that I had to send it back (it was like eating cardboard). What is unfortunate is that our waitress decided to argue with me about it, then later kept it on the bill and argued with me when I asked for it to be take off (it was taken off but only because I insisted). Note for the Bull management, some customer service lessons might be a great investment.

This is a delightful location for a spontaneous lunch. It's a charming historic pub in a small village, hidden down a country lane near Ticehurst and Bewl Water. If you're searching for a light meal, like most pubs in the area, there isn't a wide selection unless you're looking for a hearty lunch. However, on a beautiful sunny day, we sat outside and enjoyed wonderfully delicious "light lunches" - a burrata salad and a steak sandwich. It was perfect.
