"With two picky kids visiting for the summer holidays both wanting something completely different, we weren't sure where to go. I had recently heard that the pub had reopened to new owners so we thought we would give it a go. Very friendly welcome and even though there was a wedding going on in the function room we were easily accommodated in the bar area. Food was delicious and filling and the kids thoroughly enjoyed it. The owner Luke even came over and showed the kids a new game to keep them entertained, Which we all loved. The owners young daughter even came over and made friends."

Called in whilst passing in the hope we could get a bite to eat with 2 hungry kids, and we certainly weren't disappointed. Clean plates all round and we good value, would definitely call again if we happen to be in the area in the future

Lived in the area for a long time and seen many landlords have a go at making this roadside inn profitable. If this guy does not turn it around I will eat my hat... the welcome is sincere and friendly. He brews his own beer cider and lager, the Kim Yung ale we had was on point and flavourful. Good price as well.. very good price... the loaded fries were delicious freshly made and all in all a great couple of hours. View menu

We used the take away delivery service. When the food arrived it was luke warm, the chips were very over cooked to the point that the majority of them were inedible and they were horrible frozen chips rather than homemade. The chicken goujons tasted like cheap frozen ones and the beer battered onion rings were awful, they were also frozen and not homemade. The whole meal was over cooked and not nice. Will not be using the takeaway delivery service again

Myself and my husband called into the pub after our car had broken down on our way home to Northamptonshire. Our car was expected to be fixed until that evening so we took the opportunity to have lunch whilst we could and it didn’t disappoint! The staff here were amazing! They made us feel so welcome, allowing us hold up in the pub until we could get back on the road; even checking to make sure we had charges etc for our phones. A real friendly environment to have been in

"We choose this spot because of the many positive reviews. I guess we turned up on a bad day!I have only been introduced to coffee a few years ago despite being in my mid 50’s and really don’t like coffee unless a well made flat white. I travel the world frequently for work and always ask the same question, can you make a flat white? The reason being unless the person is a passionate barista I rarely get a coffee I enjoy. This question clearly upset the lady serving us who ‘rolled her eyes out loud’ by the question and then represented the request to her colleague in a manner that was more like ‘we have a pain in the arse’ than ‘can we make this gentleman a nice coffee. (Yes we overheard).Everything was fine except the flat white was a milky coffee and not something I enjoyed. Not a problem though. I never said a word but when asked at the counter how things were I thought I would say everything was good except the ‘flat white’. Immediately confronted by both in very hostile way was very surprising as I was only answering a question I thought they were interested in hearing I placed a review on their website and their response is a really good example of their attitude. Instead of focusing on service recovery they wanted to blame me and absolve themselves of any responsibility.I of course mentioned this to a few people in Sleaford and surprise surprise was met with very similar responses, ‘we don’t go there anymore as the staff can be very rude’ Looking forward to seeing how the proprietors decide to respond to this one."
