"Absolutely terrible service, a girl asked me to wait in the restaurant area to be seated, she then approached me and even though the restaurant was empty explained I would need to wait at least 30 minutes for a table as it wasn 't fair that someone who had booked a table had just been seated, there was 4 staff standing doing nothing in the second bar while 1 staff member had approx 8 people at the first bar, the lady who told me she was the manager Bex spoke very loudly and her attitude stunk!! I I asked her if all the empty tables was booked and she said no, but it wasn 't fair for me to be given a seat as someone who had booked a table had jut been seated, The pub is actually very dirty and tbh I 'm glad she asked me to leave when she did there was all flies in the first bar swarming the beer trays!! I had asked for a menu and one of the young ladies was going to give me one but then again Bex came to the rescue and explained we was not allowed to view the menu even though there was several tables available!! I then asked to speak to the manager and a chef was sent out to speak to me, upon seeing the chef I am glad I did not eat from this establishment, he said he was the owner and was also very argumentative and said I had swore at Bex , when I had not, I had just told her I could speak louder than she could, if there was an option to give a 0 rating then I would of done just that!! I don 't understand the reasoning behind them having tables and chairs which cannot be used!! Went here when I was younger and it 's gone very downhill, I wonder when the last time it had a hygiene inspection was?"

Very weird walking into this pub, could do with more than one choice of bitter as the Brankspear wasn't the best.

The pub is down a lane that leads to a quarry but it is worth the trip. The beer is good but the crooked house itself is a bit small. There is a large restraunt at thd rear. The place is well worth a visit.

Have visited the Crooked House in the past and had some lovely meals. On my recent visit the quality and service has gone downhill. Still as quirky but they need to up their game and not rely on past reputations.

What a find , really out of the way pub/restaurant, we had a lovely meal , staff really friendly , felt at home in the clean dining area , a must for anyone visiting the area ,I'm from the south coast in Hampshire and would be more than happy to visit this little gem again.oh and the toffee apple crumble with rice pudding, and the coffee were to die for

We thought it strange that there was only one table occupied in the middle of the day. It soon became clear.Throughout our meal we were trying to stop them landing on our food, flies landed on two out of the five meals which were then abandoned. We told the waitress and the person who took the payment and the response was the doors are open , we could see people sat outside who were not swatting flies away.

Attended a wedding here and fell in love with the venue! It was intimate and wonderful for a wedding. I love the 'quirky mess ' of this place with it actually being crooked! I would like to know more about its history! Only had one issue with this venue and that was the flies while we were trying to eat. A waitress explained it 's because he chef grows his own veggies herbs so therefore uses manure on his garden.

Took my mother and father here for a meal, we have lived around the area all our lives and know the crooked house very well, unsure who has taken it over but the food was tasteless, the service terrible and had to wait ages just to be acknowledged, there was no seasoning in the food at all!! I would never go back which is a shame as ive heard a lot of good things about the place in years gone by. Waste of money and time.

Haven't been here since the 90's but was passing this lunch-time so dropped in for a spot of light lunch with my Mom. It was delightful. The bar/lounge was just the same but much cleaner than I remember. The restaurant was really pleasant the food some-thing else. The fresh produce was very evident on the plate in my mouth. We only had a light bite each but it was so nice beautifully presented. The waiter was very patient friendly. Will definitely be back to try one of the more substantial options next time. Just a warning. It's a long way down the track so keep going, it's worth it.

Quirky pub, nice homely restaurant atmosphere. Please give the food a try in the restaurant it is superb quality traditional braissere food. I have visited this location several times over the years and in my most recent visit I had the Sunday roast summer and sundae offer £12.95 for 3 courses soup and a choice of three roasts and traditional Black Country faggots, followed by an ice cream sundae excellent value for money. I had the turkey and it was excellent, served with proper gravy and all the trimmings other members of my family had the faggots and pulled pork which was equally as nice. The waitresses were happy to help and offer alternatives for dietary requirements due to my mother in...

"Been wanting to come here for a very long time after driving/walking past it, and my partner has wanted to come here since she’s moved here. Hand sanitizer upon arrival with track trace check in code. All the staff are very welcoming, friendly, helpful and all very masks. The lady we had who served us throughout our time (apologise I forgot her name began with A I think), she couldn’t have been anymore helpful. With a very wide range of food, she told us everything on the menu was very nice as she has tried everything! The decor of the restaurant is what I’d expect in a typical Italian restaurant, very rustic and has a feel of being in Italy. To start I had the belly pork with Jack Daniels sauce, I’ve never tried belly pork and it was so tasty and very tender. My other half had the goats cheese in filo pastry which was also very nice. For mains, I had the Risotto con salsiccia (spicy sausage, peppers, onions, garlic, tomato and chilli). It was so nice I’m glad it was a big portion as I wanted more! I don’t think the sausage was spicy but overall I was very impressed. Other half had a cheese chicken mushroom calzone which was also nice. We had a nice bottle of white wine which absolutely complimented the whole meal. For dessert I had sorbet and other half had a deep fried cannoli once again both really nice. Reasonable priced meal for two people, and very highly recommended. Plenty parking and we will be back soon with our family. Very authentic home cooked Italian food and Cafe Casita is way better than some of these chain restaurants!!"
